$360k but demand for everest mountains and 7 seas? Or you can manage with 50%功力?

Expand

Yes, I can manage with 50-70% gongli probably since it's a lower tier institution compared to all my past experiences.

but time and effort wise, no escaping.   as CT3833 rightly put it, not gonna move the needle so why bother.

Maybe another few more years, I won't mind a 3 or 4-day work week that demand 50-70% gongli.

Don't need to move needle but must be happy doing the job.

Not sure if got such opportunity or not? 😂

Happy CNY.

If you take a job with a positive perspective without fearing loosing that job, than  you will realise that you have positive energy, passion and commitment, love your job and you will happy doing that job everyday.

The irony is that i have always worked without fear of losing my job with true commitment for the value of the company and the welfare of the people.

In my first company i participated and contributed to both the top line and managed the bottomline bringing a 10x in employee stremgth and revenues and indistry awards.

Despite all that, when there was a change in CEO, i was retrenched after almost 20yrs.

in my third company, i lead the biggest team with the largest revenues without any staff quitting on me.  I would apple polish no one and I would do things always for the greater good of the firm.
never fearing a loss of job.
But again, in came a new CEO and I was once again retrenched.  The one who couldnt keep staff took over and was even promoted.

therefore, my take is that being truly passionate positive and committed gets you only so far.   Apple polishing and playing politics and rubbing shoulders with all the higher ups will get you further, everytime.

I was retrenched once as well and i am glad i got a payout😄

Being committed and passionate does not gurantee one a job but it makes one feel a lot better every morning, and it creates positivities in life, not just work but outside your work, when dealing with friends and family, that is my thoghts, approach and perspective

Yes the key is the payout.
retrenchment , contrary to popular belief, is the best way (financially) to leave a firm, if you ask me.

get fully paid holiday (garden leave) , get payout (non taxable) and get to keep shares awarded.

muayhahhahhahh, no regrets!

Agree but I also won’t wake up at 7am every morning if it pays too little.

At some point, it is also about the people.   So what is still keeping you at the job? Can’t be the paycheck anymore for you.

For 99% of people i know. It is about the paycheck…

not that the paycheck is high or low but that there is simply a paycheck.

most people cannot feel secure without a salary coming in.    Its totally real and understandable.

not speaking for CT3833, though.  I would like to know as well.
