Watwheels Supersonic February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 (edited) Actually some are being used as Chinese Proverbs as well. Like "hanging goat's head but selling dog's meat" (a facade to sell or do something else). "Female sow climb tree" (impossible to happen) I try my best to see what I know coz I only know some...start from the top left pic with the ghost. 1) "Ghost covering the eyes", ppl use it when they can't seem to find something when it's right in front of them. 2) "Got money can buy a ghost to work the grinder". This is also used in Chinese proverbs meaning got money you can buy ppl and even ghost to do anything. 3) "ghost drawing a tailsman". This means to bluff ppl. 4) "to tempt a ghost to eat bean curd". This is to describe someone who is a cheapo or cheat coz when ppl do offering to spirits like 7mth they would offer chicken or duck. So to try to convince a spirit a cheap piece of bean curd is just as good....you know the answer. Top centre 1) 18 luo han. Siang long si ba zhang. A Chinese novel. On the top right. 1) "One bamboo stick can hit and capsize an entire boat". Same as Chinese proverbs. Center pic 1) "Big female toad roaming the streets". Used when saying there's no such good deals around. Or as good as saying no free lunch. 2) "Dog bite dog bone". Fighting amongst your own. 3) "monk holding an umbrella" . In Chinese means "no hair, no heaven" or wu fa wu tian.(No justice) 4) "Dunking a pig cage". This is a punishment used in the past for adulterous couples. Lower center 1) "eating a dead cat". Means taking rap for something that went wrong. 2) "telephone in a pot of porridge". means long conversation on the phone. 3) "winter melon + bean curd". Means death. Or used to describe death. 4) "2 headed snake". Used to describe a person's character. 5) "frying cuttlefish". You are fired. 6) The guy drawing a ear on the wall....I'm guessing "next wall has ear"(Chinese proverb too). Means someone is eavesdropping. The rest I need to figure out what it is... LoL...
