if nothing goes wrong, Merc drivers should be on the podium again.

Can see Kimi still not comfortable in his Ferrari.

Those merc engine cars are taking up the front rolls in tonight's race. Watch out for Bottas. I think he will shine tonight.

too bad for ricciardo with 10 places grid penalty. if not can start from 2nd row.

once again ferrari car cannot make it.

hope to see mclaren car to challenge merc [:)]

ferrari and red bull are harping to change rules because of merc engine dominance [sly]

  Quote
Bernie Ecclestone said he expects to get agreement to change the sport's "unacceptable" engine rules, despite leading team Mercedes opposing any alteration.

Ferrari and Red Bull have led the charge against the sport's new fuel limits that restrict usage to 100 kilograms per car per race, with the flow never exceeding more than 100 kilograms per hour. The muted sound of the new 1.6 liter V6 turbo hybrid engines has also attracted criticism.

"They can do something about the noise, and they need another 10 kilos of fuel or something," Ecclestone said Sunday ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix. "Everybody will agree to that."

Any agreement from Mercedes will be difficult to achieve, as the team has dominated the early part of the 2014 season, and its engine customer teams have also largely outperformed those powered by Ferrari or Renault.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff slammed any attempt to change the rules midseason.

"Some engine manufacturers or teams are saying we have not managed to make the car efficient and fast with 100kg (of fuel), so what we are trying to do is let's add 10kg," Wolff said.

"Well, sorry they didn't do their job in the way we have done. I find this whole discussion absurd."

Ecclestone said any change to the rules was not designed to bring Mercedes back to the field, and denied it would harm the team.

"We can do things without them particularly losing their advantage," Ecclestone said.

"Without any doubt they have done a better job and they shouldn't be punished for that. We shouldn't change the regulations to punish them."

Ecclestone, head of the sport's commercial rights holder, does not directly have the authority to change rules. That must be done through the sport's governing body, the FIA

What on earth is Mal doing?? [thumbsdown]

He hit and flipped the other car, which was coming down the main straight, just after he exited pit lane, at the first turn?

Btw, lots of overtakings during the race, interesting to watch!

Ric started 13th, finished 5th, beating Vettel, not bad.

ForceIndia did quite well

Ferrari really lacked speed.....

Kimi just managed to finished within the point, after Button DNF at the closing stage.

i was expecting hamilton vs rosberg race head-to-head and probably end up touching and 1 or both out from the race.

it seems like a good ending for merc with 1-2 finish [thumbsup]

rosberg might by telling the team principal ... not bad for a 2nd driver ehh ... lol

Aiyo this year 2014 F1 races, Merc will lead all the way. Renault, Ferrari and Costworth engine all cannot make it lar. Mercedes 1.6L V6 engine just to good for them.

As last night race you can literally see those team that use Mercedes engine simply blew all the big players. First time I see Ferrari, Red Bull and Lotus Renault kena overtaken so easily by the like of Force India, Williams and McClaren as well as Petronas Mercedes team. From the start of the race all the top 6 cars all using Mercedes engine were leading all the way until switching position in the top 10 placing. Only after the collision 3/4 into the race that the safety car came out that really give some chance for Red bull time to play catch up as they were told to burnt as much petrol in the car as the race was just 5-6 laps left and that make Red Bull car to suddenly spring to life and charge all the way.

If not for those teams that use Mercedes engine, I dun think they can even see or smell Vettel, Alonso or Kimi gases.

Imagine if all field are level and all cars use Mercedes engines hor, then that's where team strategy, driver experience, skill as well as bold maneuve. Then we shall see the different between Men's and Boy's.

Till then, there is nothing to see in all

The following race as Hamilton and Rosberg and those using Mercedes engine will dominate all the future races unless the following engine like Coswoth, Ferrari and Renault improve their engine tremendously during these few months to match the powerful and efficient Mercedes 1.6L V6 engines else the will just smell all the Mercedes engine gas from behind.

Its the way how Merc design their turbo. I think other teams will play catch up soon. this is the fun part of watching F1. nothing is at standstill.

Vettel was asked to give way lei...

His team mate should have shouted 'Get him out of the way!'.

I hope to see the horse team go further down the constructors list, that'll wake them up...

they both are on diff strategy. Vet is on the medium tire whereas Ric is on the soft. there is no way Vet can hold Ric.

the sweet revenge is for Perez to stand on the podium whereas McLaren both cars did not finished.

Now GP2 sounds so much better than the current F1 cars.
