No matter what Jules will never recover to 100%. Similar for Massa's case.

Massa's accident was freakish... Such a small part and nowhere to hit except his head...

Jules Bianchi's head injury is very severe.

Bianchi's condition

  • A diffuse axonal injury is one of the most common traumatic brain injuries, but can also be "one of the most devastating".
  • Severity can vary over a wide range, but about 90% of survivors with severe diffuse axonal injury remain unconscious. The 10% that regain consciousness are often severely impaired.
  • Such an injury is usually the consequence of the forces of a rapid acceleration or deceleration of the head and affects the nerves in the brain.

Thks for the write-up.

It doesn't sound good and whilst I hope he has a complete recovery; chances look slim but then again miracles do happen, so all the best Jules!!!

You're welcome. The odds are against him, I do hope for the best too. May the blessing be upon you, Jules. #ForzaJules

will f1 consider to have cage for driver seat instead of exposed

but it's the acceleration and impact that cannot be avoided in a crash and also the angle of the impact

with cage, driver also got problem to escape if there is fire which is common

The air scoop can only protect if the car flip upside down.

This case, the car is too low that it hit the lower part of the tracker where the driver's head is fully exposed.

this is how Jules's crash captured by spectators. exactly what I imagined............ [sweatdrop]

Imagine if JB's car t-bone the tractor...

crashing into a tractor at 160kmph with just the helmet protecting his head, it doesn't matter which angle anymore.......

I was thinking the whole car could have gone under the tractor and take out the other marshall who was between the tractor and the barriers...

This 19 year old marshall got "sliced" by a passing car in the 1977 South African GP... Back then I guess safety for the marshalls wasn't a priority at the races...

I came across this clip on youtube perhaps 2 years ago but the image of the marshall being sliced like that has not left my mind...

Whenever I hear of a marshall or driver being injured, my mind flashes back to this clip...

Safety was really something clearly not on the minds of the race organisers...

as long as both start from 1st row ... it does not matter very much actually

the 1st corner will be critical and also the circuit provide many opportunities for overtaking

pole position with a bad start will ruin the race

Ham or Ros on pole? what is your guess?
