Anyone tried backup their com online before?

I came across this website that say it help to back up UNLIMITED data online. I am wondering if anyone here tried before and what's your take on this?

The ques is do you trust your data with these companies?

You never know what they are doing behind the scene.

 

IT show coming soon, might as well buy an external harddisk or NAS to backup your data.

It's safer and you can always assure it is not distributed around.

 

** Reason why I don't use cloud services for personal stuffs or having a facebook account.

Hmmm. true that. hahha. I was tempted for a moment due to the cheap yearly subscription.

The only thing I backup online are the photos. Which are done by FB, DropBox etc..

 

As for other sensitive information, always have it only locally.

Hmmm. My harddisk is getting old alrd, wanna get it replace before it's broken. So was scouting for solution. better stick to harddisk. haha. No matter what they claims, we also dunno what they will do to our data...

 

When is the IT show arh? Wanna go see see look look for hard disk. but will it be cheaper to get it there?

Depends on how huge your capacity is. I will store very "crucial" information on thumbdrives instead. Since they are more reliable and less prone to physical damage compared to HDD.

 

There is a "IT Fair" at Expo over the weekend. but it was bulls**t. There are some booths for computers but mostly are household products such as hob & hoods/instant heaters... Guess they are just making use of the "IT Fair" publicity hoping to gain more patrons.

 

Good news is, there is a "IT Show" over at MBS this weekend 27th to 1st Mar. Which I believe is the "proper" one.

get from amazon. Much much cheaper. Got a 3TB sea gate for only 100+ during black fri sale
