Give it a few billion years later, the Earth will still face the final extinction. The Sun will become a red giant and will "swallow" the moon and probably Earth. But then, the Earth will be already be scorched by the growing Sun. By that time, life on earth will already be gone. Oh, the Milky Way is expected to collide with the Andromeda Galaxy to form another Galaxy.

Long before that, we'd either have a) wiped ourselves out by some combination of holy wars and pollution or b) somehow smartened up enough to have survived, in which case we'd have found a way off this rock and out of this System.

Either way - we don't have to worry about it. :D

depends on which side of earth the asteroid hits.

if other side, we safe?

Yes fromthe initial impact

Then there will be increase seismic and volcanic activities all around the ring

That is where the Lake Toba and Krakatoa will blow together.

And plenty of the Japan & Indon type of earthquakes and Tsunami.

If all these don't kill us. Then its the ice age, famine and diseases that follows.

ice age is the least of our concerns. we(humans) survived the last one.
