on the 2nd penalty, I looked at this replay and it looked legit leh. Yes Adrian did touch the ball sightly but it did not alter the direction much, but there was definite contact with Flano's leg.

One might argue Flano looking for it, but a keeper gotta get his challenges in the box 100%. No margin for error

Yes, looking at the replay, it does look like Adrian while managing to get a slight touch, it was minimal and he only managed to exert force when he pulled Flano's leg. What is not in his favour is the slight tough is soft (maybe 10% contact) and did not alter the direction of the ball or change its speed. On the other hand, the contact with Flano's leg is strong (maybe around 70% contact) and it succeeded in felling Flano.

I'm surprised that the Ref got it right actually, cos it did seem like he was trying to right the earlier wrong of overruling the linesman to award Demel's goal...

well, maybe he was not aware that it worked in his favour and was actually only trying to make amend [nod] , but 3 points is good...

It turned out to be another hard-fought match. It's beginning to seem like it's much better and preferred to be meeting Spurs, Arsenal and ManU every week, c.f. to teams like Sunderland and Hammers...

I hope ManC next week and Chelski will be the same: easier to play them and score more...

LS and DS surprisingly didn't pose any serious threat on goal the whole night, except LS drawing fouls aplenty. I think his ball control is very good, in that he can with high accuracy manage to flick the ball upwards towards the defenders' hands 7 times out of 10. The only question is whether the Ref feels it is intentional and interferring in the play and whether to award free kick or penalty. If I were defending against him, better tie the hands behind the body to prevent this happening :D :D

Hammers full backs were better than Spurs last week, and GJ didn't get a single chance to overlap, which is a pity as it's a big part of the attack -- when we can open up the opponent's defence when they are back-tracking.

Skrtel and Sakho were taking turns to try to sodomise AC all night, which i thought funny [sly]

One good thing is i think we are more comfortable with retaining possession at the back, move the ball left to centre to right and vice versa, to draw opponents out, and more importantly, let the clock tick... but sometimes i worry that one wrong move and we might end up like against west brom again... And when i see Sakho and Toure, i cannot help but worry a bit more. Lucky, after a long absence, Sakho looks to at least have improved a bit in this area. Hope he keeps it up.

We still seem to not be able to carve up openings against teams like this who park the bus. Will need more penetration to open such teams up...

Suarez i think got many awards this season:

- top scorer

- top assist

- top penalty-winner

- Got top free kick taker? he was quite good 4 mth ago...

- top hit the goal posts...

If only his two shots lower a bit... even if AC's header had gone in too, it would still have been 2 - 4 [grin]

DS will need to zero his legs fast, before next match. kind of wasteful... i thought last night would be the match they breach the 50 goals scored betw them, but both also didn't get on scoresheet... Must improve and continue to get the results...

2nd best if I'm correct. Go go go! Now BR must work on how to overcome double deckers and jumbo jets parked in front of goal post. This seems to be the tactic against high scoring teams.

my guess is chelsea will come to anfield n play like west ham. park aeroplane n do a fast break. n if pool let it happen, they will lose. chelsea has some very good midfielders, n they will just flood the middle playing with no strikers.

Beat Shitty next week, then we think about chelski..

i think pool has never won 9 in a row in PL era. Make it 14, and oh yes!

Our win officially kick Manure out as BPL Champ.

Personally I think it's legit too. The keeper both hand touch maybe even hold on to flano legs when flano when past him. If I am from ref position, I will think gk grab his leg

Looking at one of the replay, I think the ref view was totally blocked by players. It amazed me how he managed to make that penalty call. But, no complain from me. I simply love it. :D

I think partly he also wanted to make up for his earlier mistake....

Iszi?? Thought they show a replay saying this is from referee view point?? Which saw the keeper hand move up and then flano fell?? Cannot trust commentator too much Liao. 😂😂😂

Park aeroplane still ok, cos can still score under the wings :D

Let's plan our strategy first for Man C match... don't think Man C will park their bus at anfield.

They will study how Gunners and Hotspur lost their matches, and the only way to counter Pool is to play an even higher and faster tempo, right from the start.

Maybe time for BR to alter his plan to counter Man C's counter :)

And win when referee is lousy.

Part of Man U domination is also down to them able to win despite having lousy referee decision against them. This we have to give to them.
