Getting new players is one thing. But we shall take heed to avoid overl-hauling the team that fluidity is lost (just look at Spurs). I do have faith in most of the current players but some changes are needed, at least from rear side.

To be fair and objective, City deserves to be champions. They have a strong attacking team scoring as much goals as us, defended better (although they did started badly on away games) and played more games than us. The only difference is them having a bigger purse and more "quality" players - how I wish UEFA would instill a full European ban for infringing the UEFA FFP rules; the monetary fine with a 21-squad cap is basically a slap on the wrist and I agree with Arsene Wenger on this one.

P.S.

Ahem~* being "objective" doesn't mean I'm not a sore loser.

Pity pool didn't win the league championship.

Pool have a couple of months to fix things up. Work in progress and fantastic work so far. [thumbsup]Spend wisely, train wisely and smash chelski's bus while they are at it. [laugh][sly]

I watch the match even when we are 1-0 down and city is 1-0 up.ci support them through out from the darkest time and to now with bright light at the end of tunnel.

We are back in UCL. Which is the objective met. Kpi complete and better yet out performance.

But let us be honest, we are disappointed, while it is true that at the beginng got the season we will gladly take this slot. But we are gutted at the way we slip. A look at SG face before the match will tell u everything. We let the title slip. This is the cruel reality. Come 10 years later no one but Liverpool will remember this season.

Having said that I am proud to be a fan of Liverpool. And excellent respond on the last day.

Ok lah, still managed to win.

Laboured performance. very different from the sheer desire we saw at crystal palace.

We don't deserve to win the title. Kudos to City. They ramped up their performances when is required.

last few games showed the inexperience of the team in handling a title chase. evenin the 11 game winning run, they started to lose focus defensively when it seemed more likely that they can win the title. perhaps they r tired. even with no midwk games, i tink it still is asking a lot from them to play every wk with the same speed.

n by approaching all games the same way, showed that rodgers can b a bit naive with his tactics. even when they r top with city chasing, can always b seen that pool may slip up, n slip up they did.

overall, a bit disappointed for not winning. but of cos, delighted how the team turned out to b.

When can we stop compromising squad str for sg??

yeah...should move on from gerrard. he should also b the first to admit that he need to take a step back for the good of the team. even if he wants to win the title, jus do it as a sub, not as the main man. like we have said previously, sacrificing 3-4 players to accommodate 1 is not exactly a smart move.

he still provided the deadball for the 2 winning goals.

Just saying...

To me, phasing out stevie G is not the most important thing.

First thing is to sort out DC, LB and someone to give Glenn Johnson some competition.

And City had to spend a billion pounds to beat us by 2 points.

We just spend about 15% of that.

Agreed. Have to sort out the defenders !

We can't be crawling back from every own goal conceded.

Need a tower leader CB, even if he cost more.

SG, we still need him, to steady the ship. Provide leadership, and guidance, especially when we are challenging again next season. I would think the next Captain could be Henderson. Just give him the vice captain, and I am sure he will do well.

I knew Pool got slim chances of winning when they slip up against Chelsea at home.

Never mind lar, as well as we are above Chelsea (3rd position) and Pool did not spend much last season trying to sign players cos they (players) did not want to come to Pool for not in UCL.

Actually what Pool did was in line with European Football Union coming regulations on filling home grown talent footballers rather than buying talents. ManCity was one of those buying talents club and fine 50 million pound which they are appealing.

At least Pool have 1/2 the squad make up of English players and from their own local football academy.... [:)]

Without spending on big 'star' players and come in 2nd position is a great achievement.

i think take things into perspective.

We spent money without them contributing a single percent to the 2nd position

- Ilori, ASPAS, alberto

At least Sakho did something.

We really need to look at how we sign players properly and identify good targets.

Like what some guys are saying, next year will be much tougher even to qualify for CL again.

yeah...he did provide the 2 assists. while good to have, im sure others can start taking freekicks as well. pros n cons. for me, the most impt is for the team to look ahead n start planning for life after gerrard.

Well, the season ended and in Pool, who had played well and who had not had been identified .... [sly]

One major person to get rid off is Moses. The most selfish and lazy player .... [furious]

Sometimes I wonder, is it Chelsea loan him to Pool to create havoc .....

apart from aspas, the rest will b useful for cup games. first teamers need to b used for league n UCL. let the others have their chance in cup games. actually was really looking forward to aspas. but whenever he did play, very disappointing. he did do very well in pre season. either he put too much pressure on himself, or cant get used to actual pace of the game.
