Next season might b tougher. As some say opponents have already known pool's style n will no longer b taken by surprise. But, im sure the team n coaches r aware of this n smart enough to come up with something else. Perhaps the style will still b the same, but the approach taken to different games will b different.

They wont b naive anymore like the games against chel n palace. These 2 games r the biggest lessons on how not to lose the title race.

Think about the psychological aspect.

Lets see, Liverpool "lost it" so no pressure at Newcastle.

City think they "won it" so relax and complacent.

Maybe even celebrating now and counting their chickens.

City has just played 2 games in 4 days.

On Sunday they will have played 3 games in 8 days.

In the 60th minute they will feel tired and if West Ham

counter attack like CP did then maybe they will let in a few goals?

:D

So many scenarios to consider.

Maybe pools lose again & man city dont even need to beat wh. Lol

Newcastle can also be motivated by palace.

If they can prevent pools from winning, newcastle can also do it. Hahaha

Beating Villa 4-0 is the best result Liverpool could have got.

If City drew with Villa say 2-2 then they will be fully focused on Sunday's game.

When Pool beat AC Milan in 2005, the AC were singing and celebrating in the dressing room at

half time. They switched off and we went on to score 3 goals.

In 1989 Liverpool went into the last game against Arsenal 3 points ahead with a better goal difference.

Liverpool would have to lose by 2 goals at home to lose the Championship.

For Arsenal to come to Anfield with our 12th man and beat us by 2 goals is a big ask.

Could they do it?

:D

Then City deserve to win the Championship.

With the last round of matches to be played, Liverpool's task is "simplified";

Win ~ confirm minimum 2nd place. Hoped for ManC to lose, then can be champs.

Draw ~ more or less confirm 2nd place, unless Chelsea ripped Cardiff apart by an obscene margin.

Lose ~ might finished the season in 3rd.....

Anyone predicted that Sunderland would stay up when

they had to play Pool, Man City, Chelsea in their last 5 games?

haha tcs script writer. Why must be 60 min? Script writer forgotten one impt factor. City playing at hm. Last hm. I am sure they go out all gun blazing

ok my turn. City raid into 2 goals lead in 20 min. West ham not a single shot on city goal. Start of 2nd half city thinking cup in bag bring in 3 subs. To give everyone a feel of the last game. Than...Yaya slip at 47min west ham score. Corner kick west ham wrestle the city defender. Referee gave a penalty to west ham. City players outrage. 2:2 at 90 min. Injury time city players celebrating while west ham take the last goal kick. Ball bound. Kompany head but joe hart came out to catch. Both gotten into each otherway. Goal!! Open goal.

hahahaha

This will be one hell of a season.

Looking at Liverpool history, has anyone not noticed we always had to come

from behind to win? I didn't know what St Etienne is until I supported Liverpool.

:D

30 years to the day since St Etienne were famously beaten and Anfield was shaken to its core, Liverpoolfc.tv present the definitive story of that never-to-be-forgotten occasion...

However, despite all the hype, no one could have predicted the drama that was about to unfold.

The French champions were showing more attacking ideas than in first leg and six minutes after the restart they got their just reward. Heighway lost possession in the centre of the pitch, Bathenay picked up the loose ball and proceeded to beat Clemence with a spectacular dipping strike from 30 yards out. As the ball hit the back of Clem's net Bathenay turned and held his arms aloft to receive the adulation of his ecstatic team mates.

It was now the turn of the 5,000 visiting French supporters, clad in green and white and densely packed together in the 'Anny' Road, to raise the volume and 'Allez Les Verts' rang around a stunned Anfield. With Liverpool now needing two goals to progress, the tie seemed to be slipping out of their grasp and with the prospect of extra time now ruled out it was the men from France who were in the ascendancy.

Yes of course we can. We certainly exceeded all expectations by a country mile. We are battling for title till the last day with a fraction of the resources the other 2 horses have. LS has swiped all the awards so far and I hope BR gets Manager of the Year.

So no matter what, this is a groundbreaking season for us.

The "air of disappointment" somewhat hanging around is because we know we came SO DAMN CLOSE to our holy grail and ending the 24 year drought we could almost taste it. So along the way our expectations (or hopes/dreams whatever you want to call it) changed. 4th place became a forgone conclusion and chasing the title became a distinct possibility. By Apr not only it was a possibility it became ours to lose. And in all likelihood we did lose it (unless something crazy happens this weekend). That's the danger of expectations, once you fulfil it, another bigger one comes along.

Anyway so I just want to say that for those of us who feel disappointed, it is ALRIGHT to be disappointed. Nothing wrong with that. See how LS cry on the pitch after CP game? That is disappointment. But perhaps it was inevitable given our limited resources. We knew since the close of Jan window when we didn't strengthen our squad that we would be in trouble. In fact, that the trouble came so late is already a minor miracle in itself. Compared to last year when PC and DS came in during the Jan window and the impact they made. If we had another PC & DS come in this year it may have been very different now.

But we can look to the future and let me be the first to say, next season will be tough for us. We still have less resources than the 2 oil-funded clubs and we have to contend with CL. So we also should not expect too much for next season. For me next season target is again to finish top 4, maybe give a good title run and reach QF of UCL (hopefully we are not in some group of death in the group stage). If can win FA cup will be good.

Yup. Agree with Kar_lover. I think Galant also asked whats wrong with being disappointed.

We have every right to feel disappointed.

We are not disappointed in SG, we are disappointed for him as he is perhaps the player that everyone would like to see him getting a champion's medal.

We are not disappointed in the team, we are disappointed for the team as they have punched above their weight.

We are not disappointed in BR, we are disappointed for him as pple will point at his tactical decisions for the last 3 matches instead the transformation he initiated.

And to those, who are not even liverpool fans and asking why disappointed? Of cos u r not disappointed!

i have someone in my FB which commented that pool fans have suddenly gone quiet after the loss to chelsea. that no more are we shouting abt how gd liverpool is. n all other crap.

n dont need to say...he's a man u fan. i wanted to say, that for the whole of this season, man u fans have disappeared. cant even hear their whispers n that even though pool do not win the title, they are still ahead of man u by many pts n goals.

but i refused to stoop to his level...n also cos he's my younger cousin. still too young.

yeah...im also disappointed. everyone fan of every club would b if their club are so near...yet didnt get it. pool has come so far, in leaps n bounds that they deserve something. but, we can also say that a UCL spot 2nd place is not too bad a "something" to be won.

no one can say that pool fans should b happy n not disappointed. we are happy...but also disappointed. should have, could have...but...
