Being invited then uninvited

Write up in the ST today and even Gillian did question if PA was really partisan or not.

Seems that the un-invite was relayed on Jan8. Contrary to some ppl asking why did TCB choose to tell it only on Jan8. Call a spade a spade, I am sure he posted on his FB when he knew abt it.

Seems like lotsa damage needs to be rectified

Isn't PA just P short of PAP. *wink*

Boycott PA and stop all dealings with them.

He better make sure the above is true. If any reporters spotted someone who has step down long ago, but attended the session during the event, then that's going to open up another can of worms.

Won't be surprised if those stepped down long time ago are on the invite list still. They can always cite exceptions, exclusions etc. etc. as reasons for doing so.

PA used wrong list and invited Tan Cheng Bock by mistake: Lim Swee Say
Published on Feb 07, 2014
By Robin Chan
The People's Association made a mistake and used an old invitation list instead of an updated one.
That is how it ended up inviting and then uninviting former People's Action Party Member of Parliament and presidential candidate Dr Tan Cheng Bock to a Chinese New Year garden party.
The party is an annual event for past and present grassroots leaders and this year's is taking place this Sunday evening at the Istana.
That was the explanation given by Mr Lim Swee Say, the deputy chairman of the PA and labour chief, in response to media queries on Friday hours after Dr Tan posted on his Facebook page a status update on being uninvited.
"It is most unfortunate that PA made the mistake of using the old list instead of the updated list. We are sorry for the error, and this is why I phoned Mr Tan and the other affected invitees personally to explain the mistake, and followed up with personal e-mails to apologise again," Mr Lim said.
He added that the list of invitees is reviewed and refreshed periodically to allow a wider base of people who serve the community to attend the yearly reception.
"The most recent review was conducted a few months ago. Instead of inviting all ex-advisers to grassroots organisations repeatedly for 20, 30 years or even longer, we decided to limit the list to only ex-advisers who stood down in the immediate past general election," he added.
Mr Lim did not say how many invitees were affected by this mistake, or who they are.
He added that he was "heartened that Mr Tan very graciously accepted my explanation over the phone" and is "surprised that he now brings this up publicly as an issue".
Dr Tan's post has gathered almost 2,000 likes and more than 800 shares since it was put online on Friday morning.
He told The Straits Times that he decided to write about in on Facebook because many grassroots leaders had asked if he would be attending the event.

We all know the answer to the partisanship question [laugh] [laugh]

TCB is an old hand at this. It's definitely a calculated move on his part.

Either TCB is very naive or very cunning, both of each all do not put him in good light. There is nothing to expose or reinforce as it is plain and simple what everyone think of the organisation concern. He still want to hanker for the recognition of his past contribution? He really miss catching up with his old kakis?

Perhaps the reality has just sunken in, and he cant get over it? Time to move on...

I can relate to Dr.Tan CB, once you're out of the crony, thy treat you like enemy and if one dare to stand up for President elect and not selected, it's a different case altogether.

All the outstanding work goes to the bin, thy forget you and chuck you aside.

After all it's a yearly affair, CNY lo hei session only, If TCB wants to merry-up with his kakis, he can by all means book a hotel or Country club to celebrate the occasion, he do not want to saying using Pappies money for his own activity.

And he looks good too.

How many people actually got dealings with PA one? To me they're just a support organisation of PAP meant to carry balls, don't even know wtf they do.

But I guess they got members and there are some people who are willing to put their tongues into it when they kiss that ass.
