Being invited then uninvited

I remember last time my colleagues informed me i was promoted to senior staff nurse. They shook my hand. Roster designation was changed. I was surprised cos i did not receive any letter so how come the world can know of my promotion before me?

The roster designation was changed by the nurse manager so i tot maybe the letter was misplaced or some cock up.

A week later, the nurse manager called me to tell me it was a typo in the roster and they are amending the roster :-(

There are a few important dates:

1. TCB stepped down in year 2006.

2. GE was in year 2011.

3. Presidential election was in year 2011.

Today is 2014. At least 1000 days have passed even for the latest date mentioned above.

How come such an important invitation list has not been regularly scrutinized, reviewed or updated?

Another case of complacency or security loop hole? And the venue is at Istana.

Well, it is in the ST, so looks like it affects the public...unker SOYA pls take note.

Let's see the response. I give some options

1. Somebody hacked into my email acct. I dunno how that happened. Someone also impersonate me thru phone call

2. It was misread and heard wrongly. WE never meant to uninvite but rather to unveil the invites....

3. Somebody may be giving 'his wrong interpretation of the entire event' and we all carry on with life and

kpkb abt ERP, COE, LTA, yadda yadda yadda....

and still listurb porker and turbo...the 2 inseparable lubbers

Aiyah, simply says...

My action and words had been taken out of context by tcb and the public forum..

I question their decision to uninvite TCB, even though its their prerogative to do so.

Didnt it cross their minds that this may go viral? What was toothpick thinking??!

Run out of toothpick so not thinking right... Dingtaifung too crowded during this cny season.....

Anyone who thinks it about a simple mistake is smoked. The reason given is pure bull shit.

The president is no mere ceremonial post as described, it was created specifically to counter any govt that steps out of line via his veto powers, of cos It makes no diff now cos its a PAP govt and TT is a PAP man.

But if its a coalition type govt or if the PAP is defeated, then the Pres can become kingmaker by making things difficult for the non-PAP govt.

An independent non-PAP Pres can also make things difficult for the PAP govt.

See the political implications now??

Its common sense knowledge that TCB will cream TT in a straight up 1to1 fight for the presidential seat. TCB is still very popular with the people. What if TCB decide to challenge for the next Pres election? PAP sweating ah....

So they must stop TCB from gaining any publicity, especially at the Istana. Make the public forget him.

well said [thumbsup]

This p****y is just a huge joke. Their actions far overshadow the kindergarten kid instigating his classmates to ostracize the odd one out or the one who does not agree with him.

Petty? You bet.

Lack of character? You bet.

Gentleman? Not a friggin chance

Gracious? No way Jose!

:D

Actually, thinking about it, it's all for the best. If TCB had been invited and gone, people might have got the notion that he was still "in bed" with "the whites".

Publicising that he's been UNinvited is a good political move for him.

I have no marbles left to steal - I've already lost mine. :D

It doesn't matter who showed interest first. What matters is that if he was not with the PAP, he is against them.

Candidates are supposed to be neutral!

Write up in the ST today and even Gillian did question if PA was really partisan or not.

Seems that the un-invite was relayed on Jan8. Contrary to some ppl asking why did TCB choose to tell it only on Jan8. Call a spade a spade, I am sure he posted on his FB when he knew abt it.

Seems like lotsa damage needs to be rectified

"The most recent review was conducted a few months ago. Instead of inviting all ex-advisers to grassroots organisations repeatedly for 20, 30 years or even longer, we decided to limit the list to only ex-advisers who stood down in the immediate past general election," he added.

He better make sure the above is true. If any reporters spotted someone who has step down long ago, but attended the session during the event, then that's going to open up another can of worms.

PA non partisan?

Anyway, Bocky is not the first to be uninvited. Guess he is now persona non grata at PA events.

In 2011, Workers Party MP Chen Show Mao was also uninvited by the grassroots organisations in his ward after having been invited to a grassroots event. According to a news report then:

Workers Party (WP) MP for Aljunied GRC Chen Show Mao explained on his Facebook page yesterday that he had been scheduled to attend such a dinner last week, but the organisers had called to let him know that they could not have him show up as originally hoped.

Grassroots leaders are often invited to such dinners, held as part of the Chinese Hungry Ghost Month celebrations.

In this case, organisers had according to Mr Chens post been told by the Paya Lebar CCC (Citizens Consultative Committee under the Peoples Association) that, as a condition for receiving CCC approval to use a planned venue in the HDB estate, they may no longer invite the Aljunied opposition MPs.
