Unprofessional policing by the Traffic Police

Dear Letty,

people as civilised as you should not bother to track down the police officer who is doing his/her job which seems monotonous to me. In the event where you will cause someone to lose their job or their future. During peacetime we tends to complain about tiny little things, but lets not forget without their contribution, we will be much worst off.

Do you want to create a SG that we need to out source our defence and homeland security to FT cause no singaporeans want that job anymore, which only consist of complains.

I have my fair share of dealings with I/Os and PCs, they are not saints, but, just let it go bro. You will live a better day.

Really? You mean there is alcohol in vomit, burp, acid reflux, dentures even if the pax didn't consume alcohol in the first place?

And this mouthwash thing, is it that alcoholic and the Breathalyzer limit so low that use it means will fail?

I find them so hard to believe.

I hope traffic police officers are now well aware that mouth alcohol (inclusive of vomit, burp, acid reflux, dentures and mouthwash) could cause one to fail the Breathalyzer test too,

i myself as at one road block... i think most TP are very professional and courtesy...

what I notice are the obviously drunk man refusing to take the test... can see his eye rowing... body swaying and ya.. smell of alcohol....

giving all kind of cock and bull story just dont want to do the test...

TP then is pro, patient and not even rise a voice....

12:20am ....last thing go to the mouth is listerin....

wonder what he take before the listerin..... also after listerin...ppl will normally go to bed...wonder what he is doing at Lavender @ 12:20am....

those kena road block will know that TP will not ask EVERYONE to step out of their cars for the test... he/she must exhibit certain tell tale sign....so the old dad must have done something to trigger the response....

and SOP will be to take test.. pass.. let go with a warning.. fail... go back to station.... what more to complaint abt??

My thoughts after reading:

1. If every car ask for 15 mins then it will be a whole rows of cars jamming up around the area.

2. I assume is less than 1 hour wait. Imagine if the test is done at lavender road at 12.20am.. Then after some talks should be 12.30am. then journey to Ubi - TP HQ also need about 10 mins or so... So i assume is less than 30 mins - 45 mins wait which is still ok.

3. "TP is completely rude, completely unprofessional". Cos They never go for customer service course before? Must see also how the "dad reply mah

don't think you can drink Listerine. [laugh]

Anyway, alcohol is cheaperer than Listerine relatively speaking.

While it is true sensible people will not drink Listerine, some does abuse it and below is the true encounter I experienced back in 2008 in Perth (was working there for solid 15 months).

The police were clamping down on teenager drinking at one period and they were not allowed to consume alcohol. To get the kick, many were going for Listerine/mouth wash and that resulted in all supermarkets stopped selling the large size bottles (which I used to buy - more economical). One day I asked one of the sales person at the regular store I patronised why I no longer can find them and was told the reason...

I was taking my wife to A&E past midnight due to emergency and stopped at the road block. After, I explained them the situation, they politely reminded me not to speed(though i was not speeding) because of my wife situation. If fact, they did not even tested me for d&D and allowed to proceed knowing the situation. To me, they are truely professional.

I have only encountered TP a couple of times over many years of driving. And during both times the officers were polite and professional, and I'm inclined to believe they are usually like that.

While the post originator felt otherwise, it's probably just one of those things----let's put it behind u, plus no real harm done anyway?

Ya man.. Why can just accept it and go back to station.

Meanwhile, hope to have some inside story or response from TP side.

Eg, someone on duty that night etc...

wahahaha.....if the TP in sg is like tis, i swear to be an extremely GOOD driver at all time!

An officer gave me a smile while writing up my summon! He said 'sorry Sir, i beat a red light chasing you and many driver saw it...i will have to explain myself to my superior if i let you 'off', but i understand your predicament, so i will reduce the charges but the speeding charges stays!' and he smiled while handing the speeding ticket! Very friendly officer. Edited by Eviilusion

was it the Beach Rd case where the TP bike ended up in one of the coffeeshop? In the 80s and 90s there were a few tp death while trying to catch hell-riders!

I say trs moderators better regulate your wife's post better. Such jokes should never be published under trs as it is ruining trs.

Should put under "just for laugh" section
