If u gonna consider Previa, might as well save another $20k and get the Estima Aeras. Better spec and looks nicer too.

Estima can get between 170k to 177k for the premium model w the aeras body kit, pana roof, captain seats. That's why u see more Estima than Previa on the roads. [;)]

I observed from the new car section that between normal & absolute,

The diff in engine is :

Normal has Smaller bore & longer stroke Comp 10 : 1 (min 92 ron?)

Absolute has larger bore & shorter stroke Comp 11 : 1 (min 95 ron?)

Though Normal with longer stroke means better of the line, Absolute with higher compression may compensate for this. The shorter stroke with for absolute also means revvier for bullet train aspirations.

I was comparing the PI's offer of the new Absolute Odyssey and the KM's EX(V). Too many differences between them for me to list down.
However, when I was talking to the KM SE, he told me that he went for some training and that only KM has the special (engine?) oil for the Odyssey because it uses a new engine and or gearbox (CVT). As such, only KM can maintain the car properly.
I know next to nothing about such technical stuff, but it cannot be due to the CVT gearbox right, cos there are other makes already using the CVT. Does the new odyssey use a different / unique engine? Is there any truth to what he says?

Sorry, dont quite get what you mean.

Can elaborate?

Just noticed KM isn't bringing in the new bulkier, taller Odyssey. The Absolute trim fits the sportier looking Odyssey not the MPV-ish looking one. EXV trim is good enough. Well, that's my personal opinion...

So now what I have been told is the EV odyssey that Kah Motors bring in has the latest CVT HCF2 (though I am quite sure he meant CVT HCH2) gearbox. Whereas the PI one is not, so probably is the CVT HCH1, I suppose.

Anyway, it then doesnt make sense from there on.

If the PI odyssey uses the CVT HCH1, then if its an older technology, surely there are workshops that have the required gearbox oil.

They are confusing me.

Hypersonic

the new odyssey's CVT gearbox i was told now comes with torque converter instead of the start clutch

drivers of honda cars with the previous CVT gearbox would probably know about the start clutch issues

with the torque converter, the issues would be eradicated but of course with a higher transmission loss.

pricing at 194K is really high. I cannot afford [bigcry]

I'd choose the Nissan Elgrand :D More space, more kit, more rare on roads.

The Mazda is priced cheaper so that gets the nod before the Odyssey. The Toyota looks overpriced in this segment...
