Has anyone used an Air Fryer before?

For the Mayer brand fryer which I bought, I compare it with the Philips Viva model and the Mayer frying pot/pan is slightly bigger than Philips Viva. Without stacking, I m able to cook 8 drumlets/winglets.

I m gonna try frying pork chops, lamb chops, fish n oso try cookies too since I do not have an oven.

So far I've not encounter smoke but will see whether frying pork or lamb chops gives out smoke or not.

Also, I use aluminium foil to lay onto top of the grill to prevent any oil/juice dripping down to the fryer so it makes cleaning the fryer easier.

Taste wise, because no oil is used, the chicken winglets I cooked is not as juicy and the skin is not as crispy but taste is still good.

You never use oil at all? By the way, wondering will it be slightly better if u coat little bit of oil by the side..Hope it will be slightly more juicy..

The chicken drumlets no oil. Put abit on the pork chops though. So far still no smoke from the fryer.

Will try lamb chops next time.

Here's the result of air frying garlic bread (diy), off the shelf popiah, cheese pizza and mackerel fillet.

D.I.Y garlic bread - good for a quick bite. Note : the butter side is crispy wherelse the outside of the bread is still soft.

Popiah - need to lightly brush a layer of olive oil on popiah n foil

Try philips at TPY lor, but so far the equivalent in amazon is usually cheaper or at least comparable in price, with the added advantage of no need waste petrol to go there.

How do you guys clean the mesh. I use normal sponge (soft side), the sponge got damaged. If using the green color side, they will leave the sponge greenish "Hair" stuck" at the edges of the mesh.

Avoid having to do this in the first place lor...

just use aluminum foil to lay on the mesh before you put anything on it to fry. Then when done, pick up the fried stuff, and throw the foil away.

This way much easier to clean. My mother and wife have been doing that for 2+ yr...

but i thought the purpose of the air fryer is for the hot air to circulate inside the fryer? with foil the bottom part will not be well cooked or achieve the intended result that it should have. No?
