Kb27 Supersonic January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 paul ... you da man what if telco service provider raise subscription but mobile network frequent down and says "separate issue" cable tv service provider raise subscription but when you watch football screen freeze and says "separate issue" For telco, you can walk away and go to another one. Except when you're under contract and get stuck with poor service and breakdowns. But of coz, IDA/MDA will pretend to come and fine them. For transport breakdowns, you have no say. You can't use another "public" transport. But then LTA will come and fine them and return their money back in another form. So much wayang.

RadX Moderator November 19, 2014 Share November 19, 2014 AGAIN???? up or down?? Public Transport Council conducts fare review exercise nced in the first quarter of 2015. SMRT says it will be submitting its application for a fare review in the coming weeks. PHOTOS File photo of commuters boarding an SBS Transit bus in Singapore. (Photo: TODAY) ENLARGE CAPTION SINGAPORE: The Public Transport Council (PTC) on Wednesday (Nov 19) announced it has started the annual fare review exercise. Public transport operators may submit their applications for fare review to the PTC for consideration by Dec 19. The decision will be announced in the first quarter of 2015, according to the press release. To evaluate applications robustly, the PTC will take guidance from the fare review mechanism and fare adjustment formula recommended by the Fare Review Mechanism Committee and accepted by the Government in Nov 2013. "This will ensure a good balance between meeting the needs of the commuting public and keeping the public transport system financially sustainable. In discharging its responsibilities, the PTC will pay particular attention to fare affordability for the more vulnerable groups of commuters," the PTC said. Responding to media queries, SMRT's Vice-President for Corporate Information and Communications Patrick Nathan said: "We seek a better alignment of fares and operating costs, and will be submitting our application for a fare review in the coming weeks." - CNA/kk
