Hydrocarbon Turbocharged January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 Yes, flashing hazard light twice is quite a clear sign of appreciation!! I do that when the other driver is very chio, I die die must really show some appreciation also. We need more role models like you, keep it up!! Learn from you de mah.. Shifu.. Seems like MCF most of the drivers also quite nice de.. So, must take this opportunity to thank all the courteous drivers whom I've met on the road, as well as apologise to other drivers if I cut in too sharply, or missed in my blindspot (especially bikers).. ↡ Advertisement

Ttbest 3rd Gear January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 I give way most of the time so long as the other party signals and not cut in abruptly. So far, I have ard 20% or so who wave to say thks but have not seen any hazard lights yet. personally I will always wave thks. Lets keep up the spirit and pass it on to make our Singapore roads more courteous and jam our honks at those cyclist who ride in the middle or right lane not because of the nuisance they cause but because of the danger. Today saw 2 case in the morning traffic, both angmoh, 1 cut straight through a zebra crossing full of people, everyone had to stop to avoid him, none fark him (pity why singaporeans r so timid! no thks to our pap inculcated mentality) and another cyclist cutting from left to right 4 lanes alone raffles place between cars of which a number had to brake and almost got into colliision. Asher 1st Gear January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 Didn't know that "beeping" the hazard light is a protocol to say thanks. Is it a new thing?
Xers007 Supercharged January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 (edited) I will make it a point to wind down the window and wave if necessary... Edited January 7, 2014 by Xers007
Mason016 Supersonic January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 Didn't know that "beeping" the hazard light is a protocol to say thanks. Is it a new thing? It's done in Japan. So maybe not new?
Ender Hypersonic January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 If someone lets me merge,I give three flashes on my hazard lights. Three flashes sounds like ha..ha..ha.. MCF drivers seldom on the road, busy surfing MCf, that's why we don't get to meet courteous driver too often.
Angka 2nd Gear January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 i wave to say thanks sometimes. But today's modern cars' windows are quite tinted, i wonder if the other driver can really see it?? Its too short a time to wind down the window to wave, maybe LTA should allowed LED lights/words saying the same for us to the other drivers?! LTA don't allow LED light on the back windscreen? StefanK Supercharged January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 I ever received thank yous via hazard lights from MY vehicles, SG vehicles. Then there is the occasional hand wave at rear mirror. For me, most of the time I wave my hand at the side mirror (window rolled up) because *ahem* I not sure they can see through my rear window. Just to share the situation at my estate, because it is a 2-way street on 2 lanes, a lot of giving way happens everyday. When I drive my Subaru, nobody says thank you to me except the ones who knows me, but when I drive my Volvo, everyone wave thanks. So yeah... even for me I surprised that Merc or BMW drivers will wave thank you but very minor few only...

Thaiyotakamli Supersonic January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 (edited) I always wave my hand as appreciation for letting me so if u see a Brown E class waving hand at u, dont forget to smile at me P.s i wave at rear mirror and my rear window very clear at day and night.
