Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE)

Mr Lee, from Maxwell to MCE, the LTA site and road signs at Maxwell area will tell you there is a direct entrance. But what they did not tell you is the entrance is still on holiday. If you still want to use that entrance, it will lead you into the MBFC area to join the jam and if you heng heng use it at incorrect hours, you get hit by the ERP gantry because that road leads to MBFC.

Therefore, if you are at Maxwell heading to MCE, use the Keppel entrance (similar to the old Keppel ECP entrance).

I have to agree with you the maps on the LTA website suck. Low reso. Cannot see the road names at all. Not sure which no brain director approve the upload to the site.

Did they do an animated guide to teach the drivers how to go on all the different route? Seriously giving all road user major headache now... And few more days gonna be full load on those road, wonder how it's going to be like...

now i have to look for a new route from rochor to west without going up Ophia Road that has ERP in the evening.

I travel from Ubi to Bugis to pick my wife and head towards Jurong after that every evening, now I'm also in dilemma on how to do this daily run....

Speed Cams at 0.51secs, 2.07 & 3.15.

If not wrong, those are average speed cams, it's everywhere in the MCE, at least 20 of them when I drove from KPE to MCE to AYE yesterday.

For Nicoll Highway entrance into KPE, i think it is caused by driver. From Sims Way, there is another entrance. The only reason die die must enter via Nicoll Highway is to get into PIE east bound.

Nicoll Highway entrance is one of high volume. Even before MCE is opened, the entrance is already jammed up. With additional traffic from MCE, I can expect the jam to worsen, simply that the cars will need more time to filter out to join the expressway.

The other at Sims Way will still see traffic joining in from PIE, have not seen this entrance at peak hours before.

Somehow I don't know how the architects/designers planned the KPE exits. For the Nicoll Highway exit, knowing that it is the most convenient to enter the city, the exit should have been designed to go straight into Nicoll Highway, instead of using a traffic light to control the traffic in. Cars jamming up Nicoll Highway itself is better than impeding the traffic flow inside the tunnel.

The problem with local drivers is that they can't step hard on throttle to filter out. Whenever i filter out from exit, i always notice the car behind is 5 - 6 cars away. FC will increase if stuck in jam.

For Sims Way entrance, go & check out ur self lah. It is only traffic from Kallang Road & Sims Way. The traffic at this entrance is always light. If u ever stuck Nicoll Highway entrance, go & try Sims Way. I live around there. So i know it very well.

Sue Apple for $4.5B!

Mr Horse reading this, laughing to the bank now. Counting his fat pension as a veteran minister.

The future ministers will be cursing at being given the appointment.

Wonder how long LTY can stay as one.

So far no transport ministers have good endings - MBT, YCT, RL.

That one is the regular cams for surveillance and not the average speed cams.

If got average speed cams, must ask LTA how come the average speed in MCE at 15km/hr when it suppose to me 80km/hr?

My office is at another corner of the island and usually I don't travel there often at peak hours.

I have no idea, I believe normal surveillance cam are in conventional design, those that I saw are all white big boxes thats as large as the black stealth boxes along the KPE.

Just keep to the speed limit for when using that stretch...

actually, if SG Govt push for decentralising the city centre without pushing for further centrasing city centre with the mbfc, really things would have gotten cheaper and better

No worries lah, IB will be busy defending....

They'll have a hard time. They only win in the MSN where the editors can select what to print.

In cyberspace, they are losing out. Here we are people throwing out images to knock out their crediability. How to defend?

I thought MCE all 70 for both directions. Only KPE at 2 areas at 70 which are clearly marked on the road

oh really? i will check tonight and other entrance leading to MCE

Actually, i only use KPE --> MCE ----> Maxwell or Keppel exit. These two exit very easy.

thanks.

It proves that local driver cannot cup corner. Can only go straight.

You are right. From the video uploaded by RadX, the Stream in front of him stepped break several times when entering the "high speed corner"...

70-80km ... no need to break lah...

You have to be kidding. Do the bumps make you car sick? Honestly this is digging at the bottom of the well to find complaints.

I think the standard of the bump is almost like driving the route to Kuantan.

If a little more bumpy and for a longer stretch can almost match some of Malaysia rural roads.

Don't why they didn't make it more bumpy since all cars now have suspension.

Driving on Sg road is such a bore, wish all roads feel like roller coasters.

I love bumpy roads, many cars have no issues handling the bumps.
