The cam driver should back off since he has a much better view than the car slightly in front. Seems like he chose not to back off and give thr other driver yhe benefit of doubt. Not saying the other driver is right though but the cam driver is in a much better position to avoid the collision. Unless tje other driver speed is much faster from behind and make it look like the cam driver is behind. Right of way doesn't mean don't need to give way to avoid accident. In any case, own life is more important, so, even if "lose" a little, so be it ba, don't need to negh negh chiong..

Met this kind of situation many times. If I am the driver with the car cam, just 1 light tap on the brake and horn at the same time. Could have avoided the accident.

Qpik Supercharged December 28, 2013 Share December 28, 2013 my personal observations, i wonder what skills are being imparted to those learning to drive. this morning, encountered a 'L' plate, take own sweet time to turn, then jam brake for no reason. when i was overtaking, student decided to filter to the left without signalling and checking blind spot. all this while, instructor didn't react. ok for this kind of scenario where drivers from two different lanes filter to common lane, i believed they might not be aware of such things as blind spot let alone check them. then car manufacturers have come up with niffy touches to address this problem e.g. Honda Accord. they hv built-in a cam on side mirror but i think it might be a white elephant unless we tackle root of problem i.e. re-educate drivers about the existence of blind spot and when to check blind spot.

Indeed it is but do see motorists rely on side mirror especially those with big one. for me, i observed the front tyre of the car on the next lane. if driver has the intention to change lane, can see the changes before any signalling is being put out. Thaiyotakamli Supersonic December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 Turning your head over to check is still the best equipment. I put small mirror in my mirror to check my blindspot, i didn't feel comfortable when turning my head to check, moreover turn head take more time then if ur front brake hard u gg already Agree with you. Met this kind of situation many times. If I am the driver with the car cam, just 1 light tap on the brake and horn at the same time. Could have avoided the accident. Yes give way, u know this car car changing lane, u should honk him instead of watching the show and if possible don't change lane first and brake abit to let him change lane The driver saw that someone is coming to his lane, about to collide into him and he ...... did nothing?? He purposely one to claim insurance to change his new bumper probably Agree with u. The cam driver should back off since he has a much better view than the car slightly in front. So this minimise blindspot and I will also have a wider viewing angle. To me if I put small blindspot mirror, I find that it actually blocks off some of the view and worst is I need more time to concentrate on looking at side mirror as I need to process the side mirror and also the blindspot mirror. ( Maybe my brain processor slowed down already )

Maybe the braking by instructor when he notice something wrong? Anyway, I agree with tackling the root problem of educating drivers. I used to think private instructors are "faster" to get license and cheaper, somewhat. But now, I think a fully structured training programme is more useful.
