Age is catching up and the speed and intensity of the premier league is too much for them to cope. Legends!

Ferdinand is seriously considering retiring and I can bet he will be kept on as coach somehow... Vidic is leaving on a free transfer While we are complaining how Moyes is making the cut at Man Utd, I can only dig up from memory the curious case of Brian Clough. He was a good manager, successful even at Nottingham Forest but he failed miserably at post-Don Revie's Leeds Utd because the players just didn't think too much of his training and tactics, stubbornly sticking to Don Revie's style of play. Right now, it is almost similar at Old Trafford that the players are still trying to play Fergie's game and Moyes can't do shit about it.
Jamesc Hypersonic January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 Man U fans need to read up on their own history. The first 3 years under SAF is the same as Moyes now. It was very unsuccessful that SAF was almost sacked. SAF joined in 1986 and in the 1989–90 season, United suffered a humiliating 5–1 away defeat against fierce rivals Manchester City. Following this and an early season run of six defeats and two draws in eight games, a banner declaring "Three years of excuses and it's still crap ... ta-ra Fergie." was displayed at Old Trafford, and many journalists and supporters called for Ferguson to be sacked.Ferguson later described December 1989 as "the darkest period he had ever suffered in the game" It was only in 1992–93 that SAF managed to win the Premier League. So Man U fans calling for Moyes to be sacked now after only a few games in charged Look at your own history and see that SAF was also asked to be sacked. If the board of directors were stupid enough to do that, would you be saying what a great manager SAF is today?

If the board of directors were stupid enough to do that, would you be saying what a great manager SAF is today? Like some of us mention, Moyes did not took over team of geylang united standard, he took over last season champion with a great facility and academy to add to it. So u can't compare stats base with fergie time as he did not have the same luxury as Moyes. Dats the cause of the frustration. But having said that, I personally do not wish to see Moyes sacked cos I believe quick fix will equal to quick failure and the taste of success does not feel as good. Not all but majority of us agree that we should give Moyes time to build the team from scratch. GGMU.
Jamesc Hypersonic January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 SAF also did not took over team of geylang united standard. That team had Norman Whiteside, Paul McGrath and Bryan Robson. Maybe some younger United fans may not know who is Whiteside and McGrath They were really great players. Paul McGrath played in Euro 88 for Ireland and even beat England. In the 94 World Cup McGrath helped Ireland beat Italy 1-0 and he played with an injured knee and he still stopped Roberto Baggio. As for United not being a good side before SAF joined in 1986. Manchester United won the FA Cup twice in three years – in 1983 and 1985. In 1985–86, after 13 wins and two draws in its first 15 matches, the club was favourite to win the league. That's how strong United were in 1985-86.
Osprey23 Turbocharged January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 I guess most agree that Moyes deserves to be given more time, Utd or non Utd fans alike. We all know SAF chosed him as his successor, but anyone has an idea why? I mean, how did SAF come to the conclusion that Moyes is the one?
Little_prince Supersonic January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 ManU without SAF is like a table without legs. I really wonder why SAF chose Moyes as his successor? He's quite mediocre at Everton, I think even Big Sam is better than him or even HR! Can't imagine the scene in the dressing room during half-time . . . would be interesting to observe what is going on. It may take a few years to rebuiild the team again, Good luck and I won't be surprised if ManU landed outside top 5 at the end of this season. SAF knocked ManU off the forking perch . . . that's what he did. Yup for what he did. Moyes's hairdryer blows cold air. with the way the glazers are screwing with manure's debts. if they miss champ league for 1 or 2 seasons might belly up like leeds! Little_prince Supersonic January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 just recently they just lost about 200mio+ pound in value . . . . More Yes?! i certainly hope so. a few more cycles of this. and the stars like rooney and rvp will abandon them like rats on a sinking ship. start missing out on champ league and the debts will pile up. soon the packs on cards will collapse and we'll see manure in div 2. Meanmachine Supercharged January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 Glazers family did not interfere with Moyes or SAF training, player's buy or any particular stuff that worthy of mentioning. One of the reason/s i liked about American owned club, thy do hired and fired staff, but not the least of United. we ain't press the panic button coz the ' noisy neigbours ' sitting pretty, MP is doing great at the moment so there's something brewing on their side better than OT, reckon DM got a mischief up his sleeve. DM facial expression is predictable and we can tell he's facing dilemma issue, due to many players down due to injuries and strained, so every EPL players are down at one point or another, it's part and parcel of the occupational hazard. Think of Glazier's family, thy did placed the club in debts, however with sponsorship and publicity promotion, many stars players got off an awesome kick-off, testimonial matches for exit players etc, thy are another ceremonial sending off hero. minus the frills please, hence the club is financial sounds now, given times how bad can the management be. The english fan get thrills watching the game live, we watch from telly across the equator, world-wide Devils fan love / hate relationship with SAF, Moyes is hot under the collar & going thru a roller-coaster ride of late. Can anyone tell me the leader do not slip ?
Count-Bracula Twincharged January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 ManU is not the same without AF . . . lost focus liao, Will they flop like the Kop? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2536074/Manchester-United-underestimate-Alex-Fergusons-influence-look-Liverpools-demise-Kenny-Dalglish.html
Getzsfv 5th Gear January 9, 2014 Author Share January 9, 2014 United is currently in a transition, full stop. We sould miss the Champions League this season and Maybe next season too. However United being United, we won't be relegated or even fighting relegation. And No, we won't be like loserpool at all. This Club is bigger than pools, arsenal combined. It is in our blood to win trophies and honours. Once Moyes get his shit right, everything will fall in place. It can't be a fluke to be the team in England that won the most number of Premier League trophies... GGMU
StefanK Supercharged January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 Actually, on one hand I hope that Man Utd gets relegated and the Glazers would be forced to sell the club to the supporters' trust. This way, the club would be managed more meaningfully like Barcelona. We can then set our minds to developing Man Utd's style of football and really build the club from the ground up with a better youth system. For the Glazers, it is obvious right from the beginning that they will be milking Man Utd as a cash cow. Man Utd is still in debt despite all the increasing revenue and profits every year, we are just shaving off the tip of the ice berg debts. The only reason they left the club alone was because SAF had the measure and respect of the whole fraternity to run the club the way he wants to. I can safely say there are a few twitchy fingers in the Glazers' office now. On the other hand, I see Moyes as a Ron Atkinson-esque manager, holding and stabling the fort as Man Utd gets through life without Fergie, warming the chair while awaiting the return of the Prodigal Son. Personally, i hope Solksjaer - Fergie's best disciple of the game, returns to the club as manager a few years down the road.
Osprey23 Turbocharged January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 (edited) Man U won't get relegated one lah. Too big a club to be playing in the Championship. This year if no top 4, we will see a furry of summer activities for Man U. Moyes will want to splash the money to get in the players he needs to rebuild the squad. Next season will be crunch. If after spending and results not improving, I foresee Moyes will be axed by Dec. if no ready replacement, SAF might be recalled as caretaker. Osprey23 Turbocharged January 9, 2014 Share January 9, 2014 that's what they said about leeds..... Sorry to Leeds Utd fans but I don't think Leeds were ever as big as Man Utd in any way. Prior to their relegation, they were in financial meltdown. Unless Man Utd crumpled financially, else I really don't see it happening.
