I think they should have one straight long route instead of looping here and there. Run starts at Changi and ends at Tuas South. Then can see who is the real runners.

Some wear the finisher Tees for RT..

These marathon should do away with the finisher tees.

Finisher tees are part of the package that the participants have paid for, don't take, lugi man... [grin]

Named and shamed!

Tiagong people just want the finisher t-shirt so they can wear outside and haolian.

I don't think much can be done about it.

These people "finished" the race by skipping checkpoints and were detected (no timing recorded) and disqualified.

By right, the T-shirt and medal can be collected later on, once timings are finalised and competitor shows proof of really finishing the race without disqualification.

But this is quite another logistical feat for the organiser.

This is capitalism - do we think the organiser cares?? As far as concerned, these "finishers" already PAID for the race goodies, so by all means, the organiser just gives them what they paid for.

Anyway, let's look at it more rationally: we don't need a T-shirt to declare that we are capable of whatever... if we are really, truly a great achiever.

Anything less than that... why do we need a T-shirt to tell the world??

Then should design some "I tried, but ...." T shirt for those that did not complete the run. The n less lugi for those that dnf.

Organiser doesn't care of course, they're just counting their money. In fact their office is in the same building as mine and their ginna pi helpers are still sorting through their boxes of stuff from the marathon. They've had to erect some tentage behind their unit to accommodate the spillover and were actually blocking some of the access road just now.

But somehow your points above seem to resonate with me as an anecdote for this country.

Really a big injustice to all those who really completed the race man [shakehead]

Anyway it's very poor organisation for this event. Shd at least consult SAF how to use the transponder to eradicate the cheats, or LTA on the ERP system. But it's weird since it's not the 1st SCM, yet they are not able to control something like this. The only reason I can think of is that they deliberately let anyone join to maximise their profit. In this case I will suggest just set up a collection booth for those who wants to collect the finisher tee and medal, and let those genuine runners run.

I think this guys are 1st timers -Novices- all the while there have been timing chips for quite many years; in fact I think they increased the intervals over the last 2 years. I've done more than 10+ full ones . End of the day they are just cheating themselves; Also if they miss a chip station they cant even print the Certificate as they will be DQ (disqualified.. I think so) as far as I can remember; Doubt if Stanchart can be bothered , This runningsucks blog chap really brought out the Ugly Singaporean or FT as the case may be

I always believe this: 人在做,天在看 ....

You can deceive yourself, you want to deceive yourself... but you can never deceive the heaven.

You get whatever thru this means, but you will return back in some ways in future....

One have to be trueful to oneself ... so that we can be answerable to our conscience
