I don't think this is a design failure. Sure it looks like a Lancer front, but they did not veer off what was introduced as a prototype in the earlier shows.

Prototype usually never take into consideration of putting into mass production mah, so after some cost cutting to hit target selling price and profit margin, come out usually more cui abit.

I find this look nicer... A bit R35, a bit lancer ex.. With a more muscular look...
