Jman888 Moderator November 25, 2013 Author Share November 25, 2013 I think Singaporean leaders are very commendable in this aspect. It really doesn't make sense to have our own VIP plane, when we have no domestic flights. And the leaders would probably want to take Singapore Airlines too. Good advertisement for our country, better service, and more comfortable than the RSAF Fokker which they occasionally use to go to places which are not served by commercial flights. It probably makes more sense for Malaysia to have a VIP plane and the minister needn't have defended it like he did. And when he defended it he need not have brought in Singapore and shoot himself in the foot with his logic (or lack thereof). maybe more justifiable for MY PM to have a private jet since the country is quite big even to fly within States ↡ Advertisement
Chickenfarm Turbocharged November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 (edited) That's why it's easier to be a wartime politician than a peacetime one. During peacetime half the people are with you and half the people are against you. During wartime everyone is with you against the enemy. Winston Churchill has always been regarded as one of the greatest leaders in modern UK history, but I always wonder how he would have been regarded had he only served during peacetime. For the record, Churchill lost the election the moment victory was in sight, to Clement Attlee of the Labour Party. Attlee was his deputy throughout the war, when he ran an all-party unity government (his cabinet comprised members from all main parties, even opposition). It took Churchill 6 years to re-enter Downing Street. Sorry for being OT, but yes, when it comes to truly Asia, Singaporeans indeed band together. Just like when they tried to declare chilli crab and chicken rice as theirs. Raise in shooting incidents in KL and this is what the Chief of CID said to the press, "If one is going to be murdered, he need not come to KL to be murdered; He could also be murdered in other places" Quite true...but this is the quality of their answers...enuff said Edited November 25, 2013 by Chickenfarm
