Fee agreed, personal terms agreed. Last bit to agree on payment structure. Expect to go done to the wire. According to BBC, Kono will not be flown in, deal will be sealed in Ukraine.

We have tried. Fernando Reges we have offered him pre contract in Nov. However, he is looking at a huge pay check for this last contract. Whoever pay him the most financially, he will join. No way we can beat City.

 

M'Vila I am really not sure why we didn't get him. Some say Ruben won't sell this window, some say we are only keen on a loan with purchase option.

 

Lets hope Gerrard can be successfully converted than. Good news also that Allen is coming back soon and Lucas' injury is not a bad one.

I can only hope these targets eg. Salah & Kono aren't top-tier targets, thats why they haggled like auntie in fish market. However Pool has really missed the chance to strengthen and try to consolidate its 4th place currently. One DO NOT simply try to make SG a holding mf in such a crucial stage, it is a BIG risk. the whole world is crying out loud for a DM FFS !!! Spurs & ManU are not far behind, and they got more depth than us. We can poke fun at Moyes for all we like but if they have the last laugh, we will always lament this window where we did f*cking ZERO business despite the REAL NEED for a DM/CM and LB.

 

Allen & Lucas are coming back from injuries and may lack match fitness. Henderson has played nearly EVERY match and risk being fatigued at the last lap

 

argh !!!! our best chance in years to requalify for CL and FSG have to tarik their purse strings !!!!

Implication of this transfer window for Pool is this:

 

Salah was the target for this window as he is cheaper - Pool only wants him at £10m max. No breakthrough after long negotiation and Chelsea came.

 

Konoplyanka was targeted for summer as his value will drop further by then. Plan moved forward as Salah was missed. Rated £16m but Pool went up to £18m this time. Desperately wanted this done.

 

Failure to secure Kono means that in summer, Pool will face more competition for him.

 

Really needs to relook at how we conduct transfer dealings. It's looking very amateurish. Salah should just be dropped earlier and moved on.

Top tier or not I don't know but clearly BR wants a LW this window. His priority is different from us but well, he is the manager.

 

Sadly, Ayre had a month to work on a signing and failed on both counts. I really do not want to point finger at him. Not his fault totally as there is a framework he has to work within. But some reviews are needed, before we become a joke in the transfer market, if we are not already one.

Finally, whether we can Salah or Kono, it won't guarantee 4th, it just makes it slightly easier with an extra body.

 

So it is down to the team to continue performing to get us there. If we can be top during Xmas, no reason why we can't be in top 4 come May.
