Honestly, not sure if we are getting one this window. Still a chance I think.

I would welcome Kono. Having him on the LW and free Coutinho to the No.10 role is tactically very sound.

Gerrard is looking to curb his attacking impulse it seems, based on the game against Everton. Wth runners in front of him and giving him support, he can play the regista role.

Will leave it to BR and the committee. They know the team better than me for sure.

€18m Transfer, 4.5 year contract for Konoplyanka to LFC can be completed this week if Talks are successful tomorrow. Crucial Day.

I am quietly confident on this one. Hearing that Ayre not the one tasked to clinch it.

Never Salah, just potong jalan.

Interest was real. Negotiation was real (but slow). Chelsea swooped, end of story.

Lewis Holtby is set to join Schalke on loan from Spurs, which could facilitate Julian Draxler to Arsenal. Fantastic signing by Arsenal.

First time in history Spurs helping Arsenal. Not surprising if we know which team Sherwood support. :D

Luuk de Jong to replace Cabaye

This deal to be announced soon. Edited by Osprey23

BBC are also reporting that Fulham's £11mil bid for Konstantinos Mitroglou has been accepted by Olympiakos.

Pool wants him for half that price but was before he extend contract iirc

Reports in Ukraine that Liverpool have agreed a €18m fee for Konoplyanka. Will wait for the British press to report likewise before I get excited about it

Watched the video on kono. Looks decent with both feet able to shoot n pass. Prefers to play left n cut in, shooting with right. If theirbidea is to play him left wih coutinho in the middle...then good. But that will take sterling away. No biggie though...means pool will hv a very capable sub.

why dont we just get tiote , he looks good to me or does he not fit the system???

I see him as a good shield but I guess he doesn't tick the boxes in able to hold up play and dictate from the back. More importantly, don't think he is available for transfer.

Yes bro, mainly for tactical flexibility.

Need to rest Sterling at times too, he is only 19. With Kono, we can play cover for the scenario when we only have a striker fit. Kono left, Coutinho centre, Sterling right.

I know all calling for a DM but someone pointed out that if the player we need isn't available but the one we want is, there is no reason not going for him even though he is not what we need urgently. What he meant Is we have tracked Kono for a while and if he is now available at good value, we should move in to sign him.

Anyway, hearing our good friend Spurs is coming in for him too. Hehe.

Bookmakers also think it is happening:

Betting has now been suspended on Julian Draxlers future with Arsenal expected to finalise a deal tomorrow. Sky Bet closed the book at 1/10

Separately, also just heard Arsenal and Juventus have agreed a deal to take Mirko Vučinić to the Emirates. Osvaldo on his way to Italy.

Another protracted transfer might be closing soon too.

Although agent and papers kept saying Fernando Reges will renew at Porto, player seems to have other ideas.

Milan seem confident of landing him in summer and claim personal term with player agreed. However, no pre contract signed with him yet.

3 England clubs are now chasing to buy him off in Jan. Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool. Knowing that he wants money more than anything else, Pool stand not a chance in this one.

Edited: just been told that Man City. Not at all surprised.

are players so meek nowadays ? If a player were to express his interest only in a couple of clubs and hand in transfer request, won't the club relent on asking price instead? unless there's a kick-back arrangement when contract was renewed ......

i think usually if hand in transfer request means forfeiting some bonus

if renew contract, usually got signing on fee
