Aspas going home after such a short time? Y arent he given more chances? I think all he needs is more playing time to build up confidence. He played when suarez was out. I believe with suarez back, as pas is capable of linking well with him.

Times and Guardian both reported that talks on Suarez contract extension has started. They claim that Ayre had jetted to Barcelona to meet his agent.

Hmm, shouldn't the agent come to Liverpool for discussion? Or is Ayre there for other businesses?

Wow it would be sweet if he signs. Although age is catching up, but I think he would be a excellent experience backup to Gerrard. Very much like how Gary Mcallister provided the much needed experience in the middle many years ago when he signed for Liverpool.

No consences. Those who are saying this is untrue claiming that it is all his agent playing up interest to negotiate a better deal at RM. Others saying if he is to leave, he will be joining New York MLS team.

My take is this. Love him as a player but if Rodgers wants to push ahead with his style, Alonso won't fit in. Already need to carry Gerrard, unlikely he will make it tougher by having Alonso on board. Alonso is great as a deep lying play maker in a 4-2-3-1 system, but he has no place in Rodgers' 4-3-3 midfield.

Unless Rodgers wants option to play both systems against different opponents, else I really don't see this happening.

I think Andy Hunter from Guardian has a better picture:

The Anfield clubs managing director, Ian Ayre, flew to Barcelona on Tuesday for preliminary negotiations with Pere Guardiola, the agent involved in the strikers dispute with Liverpool over the terms in his existing deal when Arsenal tried to sign him in the summer.

There was no official contract offer put to Guardiola by Ayre. Their meeting was merely the start of what could prove a protracted process, with the brother of the Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola well aware of how highly Suárezs stock has risen this season. Real Madrid were interested in the 26-year-old in the summer but did not lodge an official bid, although they are expected to again be among Suárezs suitors at the end of this campaign.

Inter turned down a swap offer from Man United of Hernandez for Guarin according to reports from Italy.

Chelsea still in pole position for him I believe.

He is really sway.

When Sturridge got injured, by right he has the best chance to step in but didn't as he is also recovering from own injury. Now when he is gaining fitness, Gerrard got injured and BR implementing his 4-3-3 which leaves no room for him.

What I am hearing is he did not settle well and lots of interest back in Spain to have him back doesn't help.

We will see how this goes.

Beside meeting Suarez' agent, I was told Ayre met the agent of Fernando Reges as well, Reges' contract with Porto ends in Jun 2014.

Only 6m? If true then we got a bargain!

I think £6m is fair and probably will have some add ons or sell on clauses. Will is a massive Pool fan and I am happy for him to get his dream move.

Same here bro. I believe Agger wants Barcelona but it is City who have more players we like.

Mentioned about Ayres went Barcelona yesterday. Papers all saying he was there to talk to Suarez agent which I have doubt. I heard that he was there to meet Reges' agent as well.

Words coming out from sources that Reges is now close.
