Not sure whether its better to renew 10 years when my cat just entered 9th year ( 2 yrs balance ) before the market gets accustom & shoot off the roof again or

 

Wait for nearer end 2015 when GE exerts downward Pressure.

as i always tell my overseas customer, buying car in sg is like buying shares... have to time when to enter, when to hold and when to exit... and most car buyers are in the same delima like you...

My COE expires in June 2016...

 

At $40k I can look into a replacement

 

The only other issue is what exactly to buy - what I want vs what I can afford (will I need to get a Cat A or can I get the Estima that I actually want)

 

Notwithstanding - the Vianos if I can work out a PA plate driving to Malaysia

 

Of course - I did hear a whisper that something might be done about COE for multi-gen family / family car. Just maybe that might happen and help me in time.

If you guys had noticed, just 1 to 3 months ago, the general atmosphere among singaporeans (in public and in forums) is that COE will stay at high levels (80-90k) or even go higher. Nowadays, people are talking less of such high prices but expecting 10-20k lower and on a downward trend. Next year, the trend of talks will be another 20k lower with the increase of quota.

At least this is my observation.

If they want to dip, they may also consider 2014 as they need to cater for more votes . end 2015 may be a tad late liao.

 

Also, they may be thinking that those 06-09 chaps with COEs........based on the price they paid, "deserve" to have their validity cut short. So for this group, either its the end of days coming, or pay the the regular 40k $$ soon....if ur still keen.

 

But all said, there is always the invisible hand.

i am guessing that there is a correlation between the level of interest and participation in such COE threads in MCF vs COE prices

 

high interest and participation -> high COE prices or increasing trend and vice versa

 

judging from the current level of interest in this thread, i would say downward trend to continue this round of bidding

Only trend I notice is that less people participating in COE bidding threads liao. Usually this kinda thread by now will already be a few pages long.
