Today Sunday times has a car feature. There is a page showing new car models coming to sg in 2014. Some of these:

 

Nissan sylphy 1.6 turbocharged

Kia cerato Koop turbocharged

Mazda 3 1.5 and 2.0

Audi s3 sedan

Kia optima k5 1.6 turbocharged

Nissan x trail

Mazda biante

 

Not sure those 1.6 turbocharged models still feasible after 2014.

See lah, because of all the red-eyed people who felt that Cat A was being invaded by turbocharged continental cars lower than 1600cc capacity, when the Japanese finally bring in their turbocharged 1600cc cars, we can no longer buy it with a Cat A COE.

doubt the manufacturers will do much for the singapore market, so small yet so demanding.

it will be up to the ADs to come up with marketing ploys to attract potential buyers.

 

wonder how the new ruling will affect the directions of both CATs in the next year or so [sly]

the 2008 and 5008 oredi avail in sg wif diesel.

See lah, because of all the red-eyed people who felt that Cat A was being invaded by turbocharged continental cars lower than 1600cc capacity, when the Japanese finally bring in their turbocharged 1600cc cars, we can no longer buy it with a Cat A COE.

 

Be careful what you ask for...

 

 

dun say TC jap car. even a 'warm' swift sport hv to compete for COE wif SL500 AMG. [laugh][laugh]

 

see, kpkb somemore lah. soon Cat A onli cherry QQ can qualify.

I recently drove the 3008 Turbo diesel in Germany, very very good drive.. Power is 115bhp with 250Nm torque.

Actually, many red eyed like myself wanted it to be based by OMV. But they twisted it to their advantage as per normal.

 

Yes, since OMV is out, I expect to see lotsa of TD in CAT A. So for those who must have that badge, simply go TD.

 

Just like i30, 1.6 CRDI, 120+ hp & 260 nm of torque ( i believe there should be 6AT options )

 

Looking at Sonata, 1.8 CRDI, 140hp, 300 nm of torque with just a 4AT on our roads.......

 

Those who get 1.6 TD from conti brands will have best of both worlds. In the end, the red eyed like me still get screwed. So for conti brands will be CAT A = TD, CAT B = Petrol (NA or TC)

 

If they really wanted a more effective Hp system, they should have capped it at 100hp. At 130hp, theres way too many loop holes. But again......maybe that was the intended effect.....tong tong chiang, tong tong chiang.....

If the gov are so smart to come up with multi layer of ARF % according to one OMV,

Then why is it so difficult to categorize COE cat A and B according to OMV as well?

who says it's difficult?? it's juts a matter of want or dont want only.... [grin]

Well, my Picanto dream still alive for Cat A too! Haha, really crap lor.. The Koenigsegg Agera S and the Swift Sport same category leh! SS buyers super satki thanks to LTA / govt!
