Outrageous accident

The Nissan was stationary in the second lane?

Any reason why?

And from the photo - you are not fully in the lane...

Dear all, apologies for hijacking this thread as I'm not able to start one yet. I'm appealing for eye witnesses or video recording of an accident along Paterson Hill (near Grange road/towards Great World City direction) on 10th Nov (Sun) at around 1220h to help understand how did the accident really occur. I'm the driver of the Toyota Altis. On the day of the accident, I noticed the Nissan Latio was stationary (~10m behind) and thus signalled, checked my blind spot and starting filtering left (from rightmost lane). When the front of my car was fully in the left lane and as I began straightening my car, next thing I knew the Nissan Latio knocked into my front left. Now the Nissan Latio is claiming 3rd party damages against me.

Looks like 50-50. Your story also quite hard to believe. Why would the Nissan stop so far behind? Plus your car is not in the lane fully and from the pic it looks more like you hit the Nissan.

Is it only me who find the lane wide thus giving drivers perception that can squeeze two cars?

Did you ask the Latio that you crash into got video or not? Like that no need other witness or video.

most likely you misjudge the distance and didn't check your blind spot fully.

Didn't know latio is so powerful that it can chiong 10m from stationary and hit your side....

My money is on both sides' insurance companies calling it 50-50.

Hauntedhouse13 also didn't mention how fast/slow he was going when he made the lane change.

May not be 50-50.

If Latio dude have dashcam showing Altis guy filtered suddenly then he may have a case.
