Darthrevan Supercharged October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 A man believed to be in his 30s was found dead in front of the Swissotel The Stamford at Raffles City on Tuesday afternoon. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at 12.40pm and sent an ambulance to the scene. The man, who is believed to have plunged from a height, was pronounced dead at the scene. Foldable screens were set up to obscure the gruesome scene, where at least four areas were covered with white plastic sheets. The man's body which lay nearby was covered with a blue police tent. One of the hotel's restaurants on the ground floor, Introbar, was also temporarily closed, with foldable screens set up to cover its full-length glass windows which faced the walkway outside. If they want to jump, have to go to open area Edited October 29, 2013 by Mcf777

Ah_Zai 3rd Gear October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 (edited) According to a friend who used to be in SCDF, those who chose to end their life from height don't die from impact but from heart attack while they are on their way down. Generally the body is more or less complete on impact (limbs will be in awkward angles though) but the spillages from the cracked skull or perforated body can spurt meters away. These spillages can include parts of the organs, tooth, tongue, brain, intestines and the bowels within ... (Please don't junk me. Am just sharing.) Ah_Zai 3rd Gear October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 How about skydivers, base jumpers and bungee jumpers? Good point. I see him again I ask him. Am guessing those who chose to commit suicide by jumping wasn't in a clear state of mind. When they took the leap, they probably "awaken", regretted, knew it's the end and got a shock (heart attack) Those who went for bungee jumped with full anticipation that they know they will be okay and the body is prepared. Remember the feeling when you completed 1.8 KM of your 2.4 KM run, you know you are in your last round and suddenly you feel your heart thumping strongly with anticipation knowing you will get that f**king Silver! $200!! CHOING AH!!!!
Ah_Zai 3rd Gear October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 cant help it......but Integrated resort comes to mind. Cannot help it la. Singapore is too small unlike other bigger countries who could do inter-state trading. Am not economy expert but it looks like most of Singapore's revenue come internally from our regular computer tradeshows aka I.T pasar malams, ERPs, Casinos...,
Qpik Supercharged October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 (edited) Since opening till now, this would make it the fourth case. 1st case - local (iirc stayed on 53th flr) 2nd - foreigner (stayed on 59th flr) 3rd - foreigner (60th flr ??) 4th - nationality & flr unknown Iirc, 1st case, the remains splattered & poor TD was in shock, really gruesome sight. whatever the reason, I hope his family members don't blame themselves, learn to pull together and move on. Am not economy expert but it looks like most of Singapore's revenue come internally from our regular computer tradeshows aka I.T pasar malams, ERPs, Casinos..., I think gahmen should make the casinos to fund the installation of safety nets outside these hotels at levels 2, 3, 4 etc to provide multiple safety 'barriers' to slow down and 'catch' these jumping bodies!! The nets can save their lives. Of course not every jump is linked to the casinos, but safety comes first and the casinos' contributions to the nets are useful in saving lives. ↡ Advertisement
