Jamesc Hypersonic February 13, 2014 Share February 13, 2014 People talk about Man City scoring a lot of goals and they are right but Pool is just 2 behind City. City score 68 and Pool 66. ↡ Advertisement
Shorty Turbocharged February 13, 2014 Share February 13, 2014 but pool conceded a few more than city, right? if only pool's defence is slightly better.
Tonyhawk2 3rd Gear February 13, 2014 Share February 13, 2014 i'd rather have points than a nice goal difference. I'd settle for 37 1-0 wins in a row, and a 38-0 loss in the last game, winning the title with a negative goal difference, and breaking records for total points. =)
Jamesc Hypersonic February 13, 2014 Share February 13, 2014 but pool conceded a few more than city, right? if only pool's defence is slightly better. Yes we conceeded 5 more. We let in 32 while City only let in 27. Until last night Spurs goal difference was 0. 100 million pounds of talent and they cannot even score 1 more goal than they have let in. Thanks to Newcastle at least their goal difference is now 4.
Shorty Turbocharged February 13, 2014 Share February 13, 2014 spurs was very poor when AVB was in charge. the managed a few 1-0 penalty kick wins. too bad they had to sack him. i wished he was given more chance. hehe

Next match - FA Cup against Arse. Pundits saying that Arse will field weakened team as they concentrate on BPL and UCL. But some also said maybe AW will be realistic that FA Cup is their best chance of a trophy so may play best team. What do you think. Who will BR field? WIll he field full team again? Or will he give a few of the 2nd team chance (Ibe, Aspas, etc) and only bring on SAS in the second half?

Kar_lover Supercharged February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 i hope the first team gets a rest.... UCL qual must be the focus this season. As has been repeatedly stated by our fren JM, we have the benefit of not being in Europe hence we have no game between this week's FA cup and next week BPL game so we don't really need much rest. If we play a weakened team and lose, it could cost us our momentum and morale, whereas a win would keep out momentum going into our next BPL game.... Maybe we can score 4 goals in the first 20mins then take a few key players like PC, LS, DS, RS out and give the second team some playing time. If we don't get 4th, I don't think it will because of FA Cup. It will be because of Toure hahaha....sometimes when I look at the table now, if not for the Hull and West Brom game we would be 2nd.... Shorty Turbocharged February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 i hope they dont field a weakened team. no midweek game so they can stil hv their rest the whole wk. but still hope to see other players getting some game time. cant always depend on the same 11 week in week out. Relacklabrudder3 2nd Gear February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 Got this off Liverpool rumour site , makes a lot if sense: The win against Fulham was a great result and a lot of credit must go to Brendan for getting such a gutsy performance from the players. I know Brendan would like to win the FA Cup but finishing in the top four in the league is crucial. Just as Dalglish got the bullet when he won the League Cup but finished outside the top four, FSG will not be satisfied with an FA Cup win instead of a top four finish and they will look to change the manager in the summer if this failure occurs. It is imperative that Suarez and Sturridge are rested on Sunday against Arsenal because there is every likelihood that they would get injured. They must be played solely in the remaining 12 Premier League games. Without one or both of them in the remaining 12 League games Liverpool will fail to make a top four finish and that is definite. It would be best for Liverpool that Arsenal win on Sunday as it would force Arsenal into more distractions from their Premier League games and make their players more fatigued. Rafa Benitez made this mistake in 2008 when he played Torres in a meaningless FA Cup game against Reading at Anfield. Liverpool lost the game that night and Torres got injured and missed crucial games in the league and this was the season Liverpool finished 2nd on 86 points behind United. Arsene Wenger is talking about resting 6 players for Sunday. He clearly wants Arsenal to get knocked out because he wants Liverpool's quest for top four to be distracted by the FA Cup. PLEASE REMEMBER BRENDAN FSG WANT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFICATION ASSURED THIS MAY-THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE FA CUP. Brendan, you need to target higher than fourth place as Tottenham are coming fast and if Man United somehow won the Champions League fourth place in the Premier League would lose out on the Champions League qualification. Brendan, you are doing a brilliant job, you are very close to the Promised Land of the Champions League-please realize that the FA Cup is a distraction for the club that is not financially beneficial. The financial benefits for the club from Champions League qualification both in terms of attracting more marquee players this summer like Suarez, Sturridge and Gerrard and in substantially increased commercial revenue far outweigh any financial gain that would be accrued from winning the FA Cup and in this new world of Financial Fair Play this must be the clear aim of the club ie Champions League qualification this May. Wyfitms Twincharged February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 Agree that FA cup is a distraction. But i doubt BR would be sacked if we don;t get into UCL. Jamesc Hypersonic February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 We should just play all the wonder kids in the FA cup. Our wonder kids are better than than Arsenal's wonder kids. We will still beat them 5-1.
Kar_lover Supercharged February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 JM is at it again....I guess its a compliment that he is paying attention and playing mind games with us. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho feels Liverpool’s absence from European competition is a major boon to their hopes of lifting a first Premier League title since 1990. GettyImagesJose Mourinho says Liverpool are genuine contenders. • Kelly: The mark of champions?• Macintosh: Keep Terry out• Hodgson casts doubt on Cole• Marcotti: Managerial methods Mourinho’s side are the current league leaders but Liverpool sit just four points behind, with this season’s title run-in shaping up to be one of the most exciting in years. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that a lack of European football has been beneficial for his players at his enabled them to stay fresh and focused on the league campaign. And with Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal all still involved in the Champions League, Mourinho feels that Liverpool have a huge advantage and should be taken seriously. “When I say we're not the top candidate everyone thinks 'here he is again, with what you like to call the mind games,’” Mourinho told Sky Sports News. “But it's just my feeling. The league is amazing but Liverpool have a big advantage because of the fact they don't play in the Champions League.'' And Mourinho is not expecting any of the teams in the title race to have an easy ride in the run-in, adding: “Every team needs points for their objective -- some for relegation, some for Champions League football and some are trying to be champions. It's going to be hard for everybody.''
Jamesc Hypersonic February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 Jose is absolutely right. Pool does have an advantage not playing CL. Now his own players will be demoralised and they will drop points. The best mind games player is Roberto Mancini. His mind games worked so well, City beat Utd to the PL.
