I've said so many times and I'll say it again, Fulham is not a team you can beat easily. Good result for Pool.

That's why I can't understand how they can be at the foot of the table....

Heng arrh... can get 3 points from such situation.

I think Toure really must go temple pray pray. Can bring Skrtel with him too. Rogers better be their driver to ensure they do so...

we might be scoring like crazy this season, but also conceding like mad. how many goals conceded is a result of bad defending rather than opponents really making it impossible to defend?

Although I'd not watched the match except for the highlights, but sounds like the same problem as all along: that Pool has no answer to being harassed and pressured on the ball. That's the reason why in the seasons past, we had often had bad results against the so-called smaller teams. All those teams snapped at the feet of us, and we can't out-control them (the way Barca does to almost every team), so often ended up losing the ball immediately, or being forced to concede throw-ins, or worse, pressured into making a really bad pass to teammates that put them into a worse situation... Only the self-claimed bigger teams don't want to be seen as low-class, and so ended up giving us more time on the ball, and so have more time to build up and get settled.

This is actually a good game plan (see did that to Everton and Arsenal and you see the results), but is obviously tiring, and perhaps can be perceived as the 'less-confident' team's tactics...

I think we should do it more, and at the same time, devise a plan to nullify this when opponents do it to us.

David Moyes certainly agrees with you. His team couldn't beat them.

I just hope Moyes is not cross with me for saying that.

:D

The tactics of the previous manager. Same as Sunderland.

I thought Texeira gave a good account of himself. One to watch for the future. Actually Liverpool didn't do quite badly offensively considering Fulham were playing with 6 at the back excluding the goalkeeper. They only have to sort out the 2 black and white jokers at the back. Both goals conceded were directly contributed from their errors. Suarez was again unlucky, hitting the post and 2 more near misses. Good thing is, Suarez, not being the focal point of the strike force is providing more assist to his team mates. Anyway, I watch this and the other Man U vs Ars match concurrently. End result, doubly happy... :D

Good Win... Gather they din play well but at the business end of the season, its more impt to grind out the result than play beautiful football week in week out.

saw the highlights, first time pass from SG to DS was sublime.

The downside is Spurs seems to be hanging on no matter what we do... since sherwood took over, they have been going toe to toe with us...

we are now 4 pts off the top, the lack of european footie is a good advantage for us

99 pgs liao. who wanna do the honor of opening a new thread?

suarez has now gone 3 games w/o scoring. hope he doesnt get too frustrated n tries too hard in future games. can see that he was quite pissed in some moments. he needs to enjoy his time on the field for pool to benefit.

Yah, Spurs like dead and buried with huge losses to city twice and us too, but still only 3 pts behind... i think they also have a easier fixture list till end of season, but hopefully europa league will wear them down too.

It will be Spurs and not Utd challenging for 4th place. I wish AVB was still in charge!

Tim Sherwood was the captain that lifted the PL when King Kenny was the manager at Blackburn.

I have a feeling that King Kenny is giving him advice and thats why Spurs are doing so well.

Just as BR and RM is giving advice to Gary Monk at Swansea.

Spot on with the gerrard winning goal penalty bro! [thumbsup]

Din manage to wake up to watch the match. Glad that we manage to bag the 3 points to close up the lead with Manc and everton postponing the match and spurs closing up on us.

Hope we keep up the momentum and concentrate on our next home match against BR former team. [bounce1][bounce1]. Need to focus on FA cup first against Arsenal again this coming Sunday. 5-1 again? [grin]

good that we will be playing those top teams at home. However when come to pool dont look too much into the fixture list as times again and again our team will give us heartache. Given our trait I would rather we play the top team every weekend. Haiz let hope the team can prove us wrong later. Beat fulham. I go for 1 : 2 to pool with liuz s and gerrad penalty.

I suggest the title "......Part 3 - The Final Push" or "Towards a Great Finish" - this will close the loop for "Great Start to...."
