Give credit to SG as well for running the midfield show.

Stevie G's balls were dangerous in the 1st half. Still best set piece taker in england by a mile.

I think 110k pw for a RB/wingback is quite extravagant. Even if he's england no.1 in that position.

Similarly, is leighton baines worth 110k pw? He's the best english left fullback by a mile also.

But this formation we are using now, there's a strong emphasis on the wingbacks... just see how we hardly used cissokho in the fulham game. minimal attacking down that flank lol.

that's why I think we have more to our game and we need to find a LB as Jose not that young anymore

tats why i say draw is the best result for us...

Either case. Still good result. Basically this season, games against lower ranking team is very important.

Try not to read too much into this weeks' results. It's still too early to tell considering that the 2nd to 7th clubs in the league standings are now within 3 points from one another.

No one is reading into anything. That is why we want a draw instead.

yup

tats why best results if our rivals all drop points...

a draw will mean that both Arsenal and Man U will drop points.....

its pretty obvious that he has something to prove. Like "Suarez can score, so can I". Unfortunately, it is beginning to show - the extra elaborateness, the increased selfishness ............ the more he is affected by Suarez, the more pressure he puts himself under, the more frustrated he gets --> bad ending. Last night I felt at times he was too "Arsenal", like want to somersault, back flip then lick in the ball like that ... [laugh] taking too many touches, do not compare with Suarez. Got opening, just farking SHOOT !

Am sure BR could see it, time to speak to young man or time to bring in another striker in Jan. To keep him on his toes. Now he and Suarez are assured of first 11 spots

Yes this is troubling indeed. It's beginning to look like the saying of 'one mountain cannot hide 2 tigers' is beginning to show. When Sturridge was lone striker, he was the focal of attention, and he didn't feel so much pressure to impress. Couple this with the fact that he was playing well and get into good positions and could shoot, his lone strikes got the points and helped liverpool to the top, so the hungry media hyped it up so much. From a fringe first-team player a season ago suddenly now become the hope of liverpool and england, he was basking in limelight, and he knew he must sieze the chance that eluded him so far.

And when Suarez started scoring more goals every match than him when playing together, he obviously feels the heat. Continue to score (and quality counts if quantity doesn't match up - like against WBA), and he can continue to show his worth; any (prolonged) length of goal drought and he's vulnerable to going back to those dark days when he was either on the bench, or not even in the squad... The pressure is mounting, and he showed it very clearly.

Suarez is i'm sure not a simplistic person too. He wants success for the club, and he wants glory for himself. If he manages both, he knows his value will skyrocket. If Liverpool wins the league, with him being the most valuable player (better still, if it's by a mile), then he knows he will get what he wants in the team. If Liverpool doesn't win it or make CL, he would at least want to build up his value so high that other top teams will come after him, and he could then take a step up. Either way, it is important that he plays well, and better than the rest, esp. Sturridge. If Sturridge scores more goals than him, and if some top teams come knocking, they might choose Sturridge over him - something that he will not want to see happen.

So what can the team or manager do? Tough call, really. If the two can do significant damage, all the cracks can be ignored and overlooked. And I'm sure that's the first choice. If the two really start becoming more cautious of each other and it affects the team, then the manager will have to do something...

Either way, Man U is a different team this season, they are not as resilient as last season. Hope crack start to show soon. Edited by Joseph22

I agree. They are heavily reliant on Rooney and RVP currently. An injury to either of them can change things.

I think Hernandez (chicarito) is a good stand in if either should get injured. Actually I feel a bit wasted for him.

Suarez is a good player and a hardworking one...

He has been the focal point for all the teams he has played in starting from Ajax to Uruguay to Liverpool...

Its hard to see him play second fiddle to anyone except for 2009 Gerrard.

Having said that he is like Gerrard.. carrying the team when he is on form

I dun remember Liverpool playing well when Suarez is in the team but not playing well

Sturridge is like Torres. He score goals and can turn a game around even if he has been a ghost in the game...

He dun need the ball 50% of the time... he just need a few good ones....

Coutinho should balance things out.... Sturridge probably need to be more patient and be on the receiving end of Coutinho's passes or Suarez's hardwork...

At the end of the day, good players can play together....

Either way, Man U is a different team this season, they are not as resilient as last season. Hope crack start to show soon.

having said that... the team is still a good team... they did not lose many good players past 2 seasons...

Man U will still be a threat for UCL qualification

The only bright side is, currently the destiny is still in our own hand.
