Which data plan allows tethering?

My iPad data plan is up for renewal. I need a plan that allows me to use the tablet as a tethering device to allow my mobile phone to serve the net. Data plan normally is 50GB and mobile plan only 2GB.

 

Any recommendation to which service provider should I go to? My current plan is with Singtel. But I was told Singtel data plan does not allow tethering.

Who say Singtel don't allow tethering?

 

Our service provider don't really care whether you tether or not because our plans all have monthly data cap. IN fact, i think they're even happier if you exceed your free data quota and pay for excess data.

Does that mean that the tethering is device dependant? Mine is a ipad2 bought together with the data plan from Singtel 2 years ago. Could it be I didn't know how to setup the device. Please advise.

Yes tethering is device dependant but if I am not wrong the tethering/personal hotspot features only applies to Ipad 3 onwards.

tethering is device dependent, nothing to do with telco, iPhone/iPad can create hotspot for most device, but my experience is Samsung cannot create hotspot for iDevice, duno why

If you are refering to eg, Samsung Note II tethering to Ipad mini it can be done.

my old S2 cannot let iPad, iPod use it's hotspot, but other Samsung device can, maybe iDevice very particular [laugh]

Not sure about S2 but I have tried on S3 with Ipad without any problems. Time to upgrade your phone .

My old S2 allows my iPod to tether.. Currently using Note 3, also can.. Maybe your Samsung device no <3 for your iDevices bah.. Should take them for counselling session, let them make friends..

not really , my screen broke on the 1st week after my daughter left it on the sofa and my wife sat on it.

been rendered useless up to now as agent quoted 450 for the LCD change.....i rather throw it away and spend alittle more

to get the ipad mini.....lousy after sales support on parts....sim lim alot of ppl do not have the parts also.

asus laptops are good. but their handheld devices leaves alot to be desired.

 

stick to the bigger brands like samsung and apple for better range of accesories etc
