Blackyv Turbocharged March 20, 2015 Share March 20, 2015 Discussion of prices should leave to the stock market and supermarket. Trust me, even Altis cost $20, people will still bitch about prices. Why do you think those aunties are unhappy that the cost of a certain foodstuff is a few cents higher in some days without promo? Like one bro put it: since you paid for it, don't look back and enjoy your ride. Anyway, we should be looking at how to improve breaking in of our cars, what accessories are available, technical aspects, what issues to look out for and driving experience of our cars. I owe it to some bros' sharing in this thread and other forums as well. That's why I believe paying it forward in sharing what I learn/know and hope others may do so. Seriously, of all the b&b car, you wanted to discuss technical stuff of this barest of all b&b car? What technical stuff to talk about? I can't think of any... Maybe mz3 or vezel thread got more stuff to talk since it has so much more features..hehehe.. . BTW, I already don't run in my new car 10yrs ago and I don't think I will do that with my new car... And hope, never believe in keeping rpm below 2/3k, I whack the moment I drive out of showroom...hehehe ↡ Advertisement

Ktglfc Hypersonic March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 In service centre now. Will change Engine Oil and Oil Filter. Told by SE no need to change oil filter, but I insisted. Then he told me no need to change Spark Plug cos it's Iridium spark plug, so can last much longer :) For the reverse camera, he will check for misalignment. Thanks for listening :))

Advancer 3rd Gear March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 Mine seems okay. It's slightly slanted as well. I understand the camera is fixed at the side thus the slanting angle. Just wondering if they could shift it slightly such that we see both ends of the bumper evenly.
Mulberrypork 3rd Gear March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 I mean when the reverse cam is placed at the left side, there will be some slanting in camera view esp the cam is fish-eyed. I think it can be adjusted based on my observation. Maybe the mechanic is unwilling to shift or adjust due to the fact that you may get scratch marks from the previous position. For me, I can live with the slight slant as the objective of the reverse cam is really to prevent hitting objects when backing up.
naturecaller 3rd Gear March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 i checked, and mine is slanted as well, guess we could ask about it when we go for 1st servicing then just to check on servicing, it is after the first 1000KM or 1 month, whichever comes first right? Correct. Just make an appointment 1 month from the delivery date first. You can always bring the servicing date forward. Btw did anybody replace the cabin lights from the current halogen to LED ones? Any recommendation where to go to? The philips ultinon light seems good.
Mulberrypork 3rd Gear March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 It would be preferred that servicing done at 500 KM or earlier for better breaking in your engine. Changing oil asap in the initial stage will determine the FC and power of your engine in subsequent years. i checked, and mine is slanted as well, guess we could ask about it when we go for 1st servicing then just to check on servicing, it is after the first 1000KM or 1 month, whichever comes first right? Kindaixin 1st Gear March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 Went to Borneo Motor to settle some finance issue. My SE told me most of the times SE won't persuade customers who already book non guaranteed to top up, bec some customers will raise hell. So advisable for customers to hv a chit chat with their SE on the way forward. After me, a customer who book Altis during CNY period did just that. Any one here got experience with BM where you book non-guarantee and in the end really refund you the 10K? I am worried that it may happen to me :(
Zxcvb Turbocharged March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 Any one here got experience with BM where you book non-guarantee and in the end really refund you the 10K? I am worried that it may happen to me :( BM will always have their interest in closing the deal. Refunding means no sales. And of course every dealer (including PI) will want to close the deal, how much they gonna profit depends on how they play the COE game - the bid process. They probably earn a little lesser for those non-guaranteed and earn more from those guaranteed. If I'm a shrewd salesman, I will use fear onto my customers and ask them to top-up. Honestly, when they put the price list out, they have already factored the predicted COE outcome in the next 3 months. And since BM is a major player, they have that leverage to play the bid process to their benefit. As for your question, I've not read anyone getting refund or not getting a car. BM will always deliver. But there was once the COE went really low, until those OPC car buyers didn't manage to get that $17k discount (even after minus the PARF). So they need to top up the original price list as the discount was less. But that's another topic.

I am worried that it may happen to me :( Let me share a true story in 2011 Was period of rising COE that started from 2010 - My friend booked promo Altis at 81k. Saleslady say no need go for Guarantee (2k more). Then after that COE spike up like crazy - BM give option - top up 2k for guarantee or continue to try luck. My friend say try luck. I was like WTF! - quickly top up. After that COE went up some more - new options - top up 2k to continue bidding or take back $$. My friend now top up. COE still went up. He already give up hope. After some time, suddenly tell him got the COE liao... everyone shocked. He still happily driving the car till now. Just done 1000km servicing today. It's just 3 weeks since car collection. I have called to bring forward by 1 week :) For the reverse camera, the SE said its like that... So I suppose if everyone here same situation, then I think it's the norm :)
Credor Twincharged March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 Any one here got experience with BM where you book non-guarantee and in the end really refund you the 10K? I am worried that it may happen to me :( Not sure what booking price you have? Have a talk with your SE and understand what choice you have. Then you can make some decision... Better than worry now and can't do anything. If top up by than 2 -3 k can have a Guarantee COE, can think over it if the difference is the car price is more than 10k between your booking and now price. Else wait till after May, see how if you can afford to wait for few month. Just my 2 cents of opinion. Good luck! ↡ Advertisement
