Adrianli Hypersonic October 6, 2015 Author Share October 6, 2015 The road condition differs; first phase fr KT to Dungun has better tarmac. The newer built phase 2 towards Kuantan is rough, noisy, bumpy & has occasional pot holes. Sometimes no vehicles on both sides of the LPT on long stretches & one started to feel like it's 'Limpeh Road'. Because of this, tend to press harder on accelerator &, in order to check myself fr going beyond 200kph, the song 'Highway to Heaven' came to mind, would ease off the oil but next moment, the cycle repeated itself. :() Same same. ↡ Advertisement

TameDriver Twincharged October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 Light rain greeted me after turning into 185, then became heavier: Next moment, dry weather & road while passing by the exit to Lake Kenyir Resort:
TameDriver Twincharged October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 More rain & reduced visibility but most noticeable was the road......taken this route so many times over the years; never had it this well paved! In some way, I kinda missed the old broken road which is so symbolic of a Lake Kenyir drive.

Yhn 4th Gear October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 At least the cows are moving. Back in mid '80 our car came to a halt; in a situation where literally hundreds of eyes looking at me and wife reflected from the head lights of the car. Quite scarry for my wife then. Those cows were sitting / resting and covered a long stretch of J116 toward Route 1. Took at least half hour of honking and slowly inching our way through. Those days, before E2 , I loved to travel in the nights as it's more cooling and less traffic. I have pictures but can't be downloaded as they were etched in the grey matter. Yhn 4th Gear October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 I understand this 1744 is private road. To stake a claim that I'm still in control. There are cases of private roads, left open for easy access to the public out of a good heart over a certain number of years, being ruled adversely, against the owners when they decided to develop their property. just my thots Once see this guard post can kiss goodbye to the beautiful scenery of the Kenyir Lake liao. Anyway, till now I am not sure what's the guard post is there for ?
TameDriver Twincharged October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 Once see this guard post can kiss goodbye to the beautiful scenery of the Kenyir Lake liao. Anyway, till now I am not sure what's the guard post is there for ? The guard posts used to be very basic but have been upgraded & improved with a newly painted refurbished guard house. The one featured in my post wasn't guarded, maybe because it was a Friday; prayer time. I understand this 1744 is private road. To stake a claim that I'm still in control. There are cases of private roads, left open for easy access to the public out of a good heart over a certain number of years, being ruled adversely, against the owners when they decided to develop their property. just my thots I thought it was just a formality now.....the checkpoints were erected during the communist insurgency days. ↡ Advertisement
