Someone said to me, "You can see a person for what he is when he is driving" [sly]

Any truth in this statement? Do you or friends morph when driving? As for me I do see alot of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde regardless of gender.

Nah - I don't see any truth in it.

The same could be said of a lot of things...

But there are many many studies that say "morality" is changable depending on the situation.

Psychologists even have a name for it: fundamental attribution error. It’s the tendency to assume a person’s actions are the result of the person’s character. Seeing someone cheat and assuming he is, in general, a cheater, is the perfect example.

Its seems like its true for most of the Singaporean drivers I know. Some of my soft spoken friends can get into shouting matches with other drivers and drive aggressively when they feel that the other driver is bullying them.

there is very little truth in it.

some ppl u talk to him he can be very soft spoken, very nice gentle, but when he is behind the wheel, u see a totally different thing, i speak to a few b4, they say they let out all the stress they endure during work when they drive home, so stress already cant wait to get home, no give way , tailgate, speeding.

and in case of emergency , u cannot judge, they might be a very carefull and nice driver during normal time, but when old ppl kenna accident, he chiong red light to go hospital, we never know, i see i point finger only lol.... :(

I agree with the statement. Seemingly polite, considerate and courteous people can turn into absolutely impatient ragemonsters behind the wheel.

Perhaps it's the anonymity or apparent security of being cocooned behind over a tonne of metal that allows the inner demons to show themselves. Either way it's very unpleasant to be in the car and watching someone undergo this transformation.

This is like stereotype.

If really so easy to see a person by something he/she does dan police will have a good time catching psychopathic killers or serial killer/rapist or whatever bad things he's good at. The thing is ppl are born different. Even for twins though they look identical they are different in terms of character.

Ppl who say these nonsense are just trying to make small talk. Cannot be taken seriously.

Men are in general more aggressive when it comes to driving. I myself is not any different. If you ask me I can only tell who spends more time on the road and who hardly drives.

I would agree with this. Though as per all things, will not apply to all.
