JackRabbit 3rd Gear October 15, 2013 Share October 15, 2013 Good idea to keep a fire extinguisher in the car for minor fires. But important to keep it handy (eg under dashboard, or driver's seat) No point hiding in the boot, 'cos by the time get out, open boot and get extinguisher, the fire would be an inferno!
Kb27 Supersonic October 15, 2013 Share October 15, 2013 Time to include mandatory fire extinguishers in all vehicles?? A spark and a fuel leak is all it takes. Bad installation of electrical devices, relocation of battery, illegal modifications, etc... I've seen a few, just waiting for fire to start.

Since most fire starts from the engine compartment Maybe a special button to discharge carbon dioxide foams to douse the fire? so that the driver dun have to be hero by playing fire fighter... If suspect fire... park car, press button and run away from car safety first

If suspect fire... park car, press button and run away from car safety first The problem comes when said driver is cruising on the road oblivious to his surroundings and happen to flick the 'fire protocol' button instead of the cruise control. Then what?

You don't activate manually, but the system does it for you.

But I guess the cost may be high to implement such fire suppression system
