i saw a gold chrome wrap BMW in Macau and i know that chrome is my dream wrap already. but i might be considering maybe red chrome or silver chrome too.

basically need to know a workshop with good workmanship because i heard that chrome wraps are a bit different from normal wraps in that it cannot stretch thus require very fine skills.

just for reference, it should look something like this:

anyway, since you guys say it is illegal, do you happen to know the fine?

i am more interested in chrome wrap then chrome spray.

It's not about LTA fining you or not. But your attitude toward other road user.

It's going to be expensive wrapping it in chrome vinyl plus are you ready to reason it out with LTA officers on the law every time?

i am not saying i am intentionally irritating others. but i do know that the general public would love to see a chrome car. i mean, when i was in macau, all i hear was people going wow and taking pictures of it. also, when you see youtube comments, you don't see anyone complaining about it being a road hazard. but when you see a video on street racing or speeding or arabians driving on two wheels, you get to see a fair share of negative views. its not as if i am asking about installing weapons like those in the death race series.

also, there seems to be no evidence of chroming causing accidents. from a scientific viewpoint, would the side mirrors not be more dangerous than chrome material?

i remember my driving instructor telling me before, would you rather be blinded by an idiot at high beam or crash into the same idiot who did not even switch on the lights.

Supercharged

It definitely is a wow.

Like you, if chrome is allowed, I would seriously do it..

However, having the thoughts of blinding others either day or night, is something I won't want to do

Well with your long reply, it is clearly that you are determined to chrome wrapped the car more for the stake of 'Wow' factor than the well being of other road users.

As for your second point, ask yourself, A side mirror or a chromed car body has higher surface area ?

And no evidence of causing accident also mean no evidence of NOT causing accident.

Although your reasoning may seen a little weak, but i would suggest why not you write in to LTA and seek their advice ?

Yeah, TS should buzz LTA and get to the bottom of it.

And for the rest, take it easy lar..... no point being hostile to one another. We are all car enthusiasts and questions, no matter how silly, should be entertained.
