The stream driver in the correct lane for this video. The car with the DVR is the one cutting into the other cars' lane.

I drive like I'm on my bike. Right way, wrong way, I still (have to) give way. imo, a lot of disputes start from the mindset " its not the 5cts / 10cts. Its the principle of the matter".
Think life in SG is way to fast & stressful. Where I can control it, I rather save the energy & invest in family time / work life balance.
Besides, if my wife & young kids in car, all the more I would give way & not provoke violence...

After getting a car cam, I no longer rage against errant drivers on the roads. Instead I just post it up on my blog (see sig), it's a safer way to get back at them. Those more serious ones I will send them to TP. My aim is to ultimately let ppl know that there are a lot of cars with cameras out there so don't do idiotic things on the roads to endanger others. Feel free to add to my collection in future.

 

 

That day, a taxi uncle horned at me several times for stopping my car to collect my mail, he still yelled out loud " You own the road???". I explained to him this is a private property not a HDB car park, why can't the residents stop their car at the lobby to collect their mails.

 

Wished I had a camera installed at that time.

imo, many more locals, incl cabbies need medication. Just that in Asian culture, anything to do with the mind is so taboo, many go untreated until something terrible happens.

Wished I had a camera installed at that time.

 

Were you blocking the entire road? If you are parked at the lobby but not blocking him why is he "making noise"?

Here is the reply on day 4. To be fair to them, it is the 3rd working day.

Please be assured that we do not condone reckless driving and unprofessional behaviour from our hirers. As such, we have since meted out disciplinary action to the said hirer and counselled him to be mindful of the safety of fellow road users. In addition, he was reminded to be mindful of his behaviour when representing SMRT as a taxi hirer on the road.

 

This case will be logged under his record and be taken into consideration during his performance review. We will also monitor his performance to ensure that he adheres to our service guidelines.

 

We wish to share that we view road safety and courtesy seriously. To this end, we have put in place in-house educational programs to constantly remind and re-educate our hirers on the importance of adhering to traffic rules and showing courtesy to fellow road users.

 

We apologise for the unpleasant experience and appreciate you highlighting the incident to us. Thank you.

Frankly, this is just a standard reply from them. What disciplinary action? They need the drivers to drive their taxi else where they get the rental from?

Today I also experienced a stupid taxi driver along esplanade (just right after the traffic light). That stupid driver also cant mantain the line.

Damn idiot that i have to alert him with my horn.. [rifle]

indeed..there are tons of loonies out there not diagnosed and these people assumed their mental health is okay..the recent increase in the number of SMRT cabs gave rise to lots of aggressive driving out on the roads..their attitude can rival that of the red Transcabs [sweatdrop]

Did the taxi stop in the middle of the road for nothing as sign of protest?

 

IMO taxi are protected on the road unlike us

1) the car does not belong to them, unlike us our car plate would be blacklisted(How many of you would change car plate if ppl video you?)

2) Not happy they can change taxi or even company.

3) The record is bulls**t, They are taxi company customer so who will Taxi company side. If the system is effective we won't see so many GL TD. The respond is more like coaxing angry road user.
