Welcome CrazyBugger.

You recently took over the 99/100 COE GT?

its a good car, generally well maintained.

Check with the previous owner what oils he used before without issues. W60 is a bit on the heavy side, usually left for the 3.2s

a W40 or W50 should be more than enough.

Yup that the one.

PO used 5w40 ... odd thing is PO has 'refused' to hand over service history. Or rather has not responded to mugs

Fan.. It's considered a small issue lah. My fan kaput twice liao.

Yeah.  fan is not too bad, but it can lead to other potentially expensive stuff.

What I'm not happy about is the professionalism of that supposedly specialist workshop

just need to pay attention to temp gauges.

There are the fan, radiator hoses, water pump, elbow joints etc that can have the same effect.

Not to mention the number of ways engine oil can leak too.

Actually AAS had a promo last weekend during the vintage car event at kallang - $150 for 3 yrs

That was a good deal....now is 156 for 2 yrs.....about the cost of 1 tow.

AA free tow is for normal towing. If yours is awd or anything special, extra charges apply. Better check first.

Roger....going to check out the FAQ or drop them an email.

car must know I'm grumbling ..... just threw ABS & VDC alarms !!

Cleared itself off after a while though

Ah without these "alarms" you do not get the Alfa experience lol

Congrats on your buy ! Is this the 1.8 M GT?

Even for my 3.2 I am using 5w40  ......w60s is really heavy.

Radiator Fan kaput twice?

The radiator fan replacement is expensive....mine was $1250!

Hey there Kimi! Good to see you!

Your old flame is doing very well.

Recently went for an Event that Alfa Romeos were built for :D

Tactless. In light of the recent tragedy, it would be nice and civil to be respectful and not gloat over a vain and self-absorbed exercise. In any case, Alfas were built to last as an exquisite mode of transport not to be abused on the race-track.

Hmm. Would you like to elaborate the basis of your statement? :) I don't see Saabretooth's reply as being vain or disrespectful.

And why is Alfa exclusively an exquisite mode of transport?

Help and advise needed.

Hi, just drove my 159 with 5 adults to JB and got stuck in the jam for 5 hours and at its 3rd hour car was on a slope and "excessive clutch temp" warning flashed. Got a shock as the burning smell can be smell from cabin.

A week later car judders badly at 1st gear during initial moving off and mildly at R. Got engine mount replaced but still persist. Really irritating especially if u r in a jam.

Read on a post by Stig years ago regarding his 159 juddering on 1st and R during initial moving off.

Any solution on that Pls advise. Thks

was fiddling around with the car today - investigating fast dash indicator - found that the bulb used for the front indicator is not the right type

Anyone know where to get H21W bulb?  Autobacs doesn't sell
