Check your car battery, maybe need to change. If your battery is okay, check your starter motor, maybe need to change.

My car battery seems to be ok, anyway, will bring it for a check.

Any idea how much is a starter motor?

Changed the battery few days ago. So far, there has not been any problem starting the car. I hope it is indeed the battery that was causing the problem. What surprises me is, my battery was barely one year old.

Yeah, the battery is 14 months old. My past experiences with older cars (or may be should be older batteries) should last 21 months or more.

My car is stock standard, not tapping into anything. Unless there is a leak some where? Also, another possibility is, I set the car to have auto lighting. Normally when I start the car in the morning, the headlamp is on. Not sure if that contributes to higher usage of the battery over a period of time.

Alfa 159 battery lasting 1 year or so is quite normal. My current one Varta Something is already 2 years old, my longest lasting one. The starter motor can be serviced instead of replacing, but not cheap also about $300. Join the whatsapp group, PM your phone number to Saabretooth .

We'd all like to share with you, but we'd also all end up as professional parrots.

Best is if you scroll up or back through the pages and you'll notice that there are at least 5 people in the last 6 months asking the same question... and its still the same beautiful 159 :D....

if it works for you, get it and then troubleshoot anything along the way.... no two 159s have the same problem at the same time... but they all look great and drive great at the same time..... :D
