So those hard jerking is normal? Nothing wrong with any valve or solenoid?

98% of alfa owners do not drive in city mode.

Things you can do:-

Ask a fellow member to test drive the car with u.

Bring it to the top 3 recommended workshop for a quick review.

We are all very friendly guys, just post a request and we will help you out.

City mode is auto mode?

Hi everyone, I'm looking at a '07 Alfa 159. I'm new to selespeed. I did a test drive and realize that when its in auto mode, shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear, there's quite a big jerk. Is this normal? I just drive like I'm driving a normal auto transmission car without lifting the accelerator. Pls enlighten me before I commit into it.

Same feeling when i initially got my 2.2JTS.

Takes a while to learn the gearbox.

You will need to lift your foot a little off the accelerator when the gb does the upshift similar when driving manual where u lift off acc and clutch in to change gear.

Yap.

If using manual, it's tap shift then release gas to have a smooth gearchange.

Not the other way round as in release gas then tap shift.

If cannot recall, use the other method which 80% of Alfa owners drives.

Pedal to metal, upshifts at 6400~6600rpm.

The 159 Selespeed is not the normal boring car. It is an interesting car. Takes some time to get use to it. You can learn to drive it with manners most of the time. Once you get use to it you will not notice you are working the "magic" [;)]

Wats pedal to metal?

When the accelerator is pushed so far it cant move any more- in some cars it hits a metal bar, or the end of the footwell (which is hopefully made of metal).

Hence the term pedal to the metal. Obviously if you have the accelerator all the way fowards youre gonna be gathering speed...or going fairly fast.

Same as WOT bo?

Or need to be at a lower gear?

I realize my dress shoes sometimes get blocked

Gimme the illusion I pedal to metal liao. Lol

Congrats man .. I think nowadays can also wrap the mirrors with chrome vinyl. Also put some of those triangle cloverleaf (Quadrifoglio) stickers on the fenders for good measure.

Hi guys,

Are the 159 3.2 generally reliable?

Can live with the occasional check engine light but not stranded type of problem. Have a Fiat in the household so I know what you guys are talking about.

Thinking of swapping my Volvo for a 159 3.2.
