From full tank, to lights up on fuel gauge, i typically hit 520km.

At the moment I am only hitting 410km when the gauge lights up, strongly suspect the sparkplugs . Will swap them out in a few days.

There is this original VW wiper blade tat fits perfectly in the 159 but I forgot the part no. liao. It's somewhere in this forum, gotta search for it. Cost is $40 i think, purchase from local stockist

VW Golf 2006 wipers $58 per set from Volks supplier, near Jln Besar stadium:

** pull the wipers away from the windshield, twist the blade at 90 degrees and pull sideways (blade has a hole that slides out of the notch).

I can hit 600 from full to lights up. Always in a hurry to get everywhere... car is stock to the max. Only driver modded.

Any idea if our wiper is "U" hook?

because the deal for the Bosch aerotwin wiper is really cheap at $35.90 for a pair.

but it's stated must be "u" hook connection or else need to pay extra for adaptor

Don't know whether it makes a difference but I use esso 8000. 70% highway. Most of the time only wife and me in the car. Stock rims and tyres until the recent change to ps3.

Dont think so, it should be a rectangular block with a hole type - probably need to get the adapter.

I did replace the fuel pump under warranty a few years back, that time the smell was terrible inside the cabin. But this time i dont get the smell inside, a little bit outside though. Will get it checked ..

Hi, am thinking of doing the following to my 159:

- change out of novitec springs to suspension kit or coilover

- upgrade 305 stock brake kit to 330 or 355 kit.

Any recommendations?

Sports suspensions, there's Bilstein B6 and Eibach Prokit. Coilovers, there's the KW V1(more for comfort), Bilstein PSS9 or a cheaper sets like K-Sports or YellowSpeed coilovers...it all depends on what kind of ride-quality u want and expecting. Budget plays a part too...

BBK will depends on what rims you have, unless ure already on 18s or 19s rims.. 330mm, there's the Brembo kit. 355/356mm then there's a few.. Expensive one like Tarox, AP Racings, etc Cheaper ones like Force, APi, K-Sports, Euromodz...etc etc...

Ah yes... thank you Count, this is the one u recommended previously. So far so good for me, considering at least 6hrs of my car baking in the sun daily.

Haha .. actually I had judder issues even with the new wipers and was using RainX. I read that lemon juice can help remove the RainX, so I bought a lemon cut into half and wiped the windscreen with it .. it actually worked. No more judder, and after that threw away the RainX.

Freaking big and heavy.

Count, it is worth opening up the thing and take a look at the extend of any possible leak.

My last tank.. i think about 5-7 litres of petrol leaked and evaporated away.

Now, after fixing, keeping fingers crossed, no smell and fuel consumption back to normal.

If you can wait a few weeks, you can get wipers from ebay for about $30.

Eg. http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/ALFA-ROMEO-159-2005-ON-Front-Windscreen-Specific-Aero-Flat-Wiper-Blades-22-18-/280798448235?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4160e44a6b&_uhb=1
