Burning Textbooks After PSLE

Like it or not, even Bertha Henson acknowledges that "Book-burning is a serious thing and redolent of symbolism. It is something which a newspaper shouldn’t condone… Maybe.".

Although I agree with Darryn that the inappropriateness holds; but I think it's not a question of books versus assessment papers but rather as a parenting adult, the kind of values we want to show or impart to younger generations.

Interesting. This is the 1st I've heard of this breakfast network blog. I am surprised to see that Bertha Henson, (who is still with SPH/Straits Times, I presume?) - write so critically about one of her own.

I shall be reading up this breakfast network blog with great interest.

Ah.. some snippets about Bertha Henson... she seems to have gone rogue... left SPH and now writing bad things about her former masters....

I wonder if one should fully trust a turncoat....

the worst had got to be the burning of books together with 1000+ Confucian scholars during the Qin Dynasty

Burning of scholars? I thought they were buried alive.
