Feedback On New MCF

New "box" showing tags of related keywords next to "Quick Reply" option. Useful touch and sort of a mini "search" function.

I don't think currently there is.

 

I personally don't have an issue with the freedom given to forumers to pick an avatar they like. But would be good if we could have the disable photos as an optional function

Dear Admin,

I would like to report a case of abuse in the junking system, possibly by a serial junker. I would also like to report a possible case of abusing of moderator power with the use of the junking system.

1) I came across this post in the afternoon regarding a solicidation of commerical services. The post was subsequently locked.


2) As stated in MCF rules of engagement, no advertisement of solicidation of commercial entities are allowed.


3) As a proactive member, I junked this post, stating the reason by I junked it as it's flouting the rules. I made a point to junk with my userID (as I always does) as I strongly believe in the integrity of my posts.


4) In the evening, I logged in and got a rude shock. I was junked 5 times in a roll for all the posts I made for the past few weeks. I concluded the junks were not random and was a deliberately act done by the same person(s). The comments are all the same, the timing of the junks are too close.


5) With such close proximity of junks, I suspect the culprit looked into my profile and did the serial junking from my string of post. I looked into my own profile and caught the last person who looked into my profile. The timing is almost/exactly the same time.


6) This person(s) is the original poster for the offending thread that was locked. To make thing worst, this person is a MODERATOR!



I've been in MCF for almost a decade, I've kept my post since day 1 to be as non-offending and positive as possible and I have never trolled or thread in fine line in this forum for the past few years, see my post history. I even contributed to the forum by posting car reviews.

But I'm deeply offended by the junks I received. If it's from some members playing punk or getting on me I would have ignored them. But those junk are possibly from a MODERATOR who has clearly flouted the rules of this forum and seeking to junk me back as a "punishment". For this I cannot swallow.

Admins, I know you can see who junked me as you mentioned anomlynous junks are visible to you. I want to let you know that this has damaging effects on the INTEGRITY of the moderators you selected. Sure we know active mods like Radx and Donut good enough, but what about those sleeping mods whom we don't even know?

I do not expect you to be truthful. You may cover it up or you may even delete my post, it's your call at the end of the day.

If it's indeed true that mcf has mods, hidden or otherwise, who abuse their power, this is a serious matter!! Reputation is at stake.

Hmm.....what happened? If allegations are true, please clear the air. It's not a gentleman's act to hide and expect members to accept abuse of power via such childish junking.

Not only the mod, there are many 'disguised' members who parachuted in here after the bought over. they start threads but I would say some are creating interesting threads for sharing and discussion to break away from the regular thread starters like myself.

 

In early stage of this new migration, I commented on one of the members thread and gotten 2 junk from unknown too.

Hi Pocus, thanks for highlighting the issue.

 

EDMemail is our staff. Not an external moderator.

Therefore, he was given a set of instructions to follow and tasks, particularly on the aspects of creating threads for sponsors and on behalf of sponsors. Not so much on forum enforcement. He has wrongly junked you this time. I apologise for that, and have removed the Junk points.

 

I have noted that our rules forbid non-advertisers to advertise.

Admins are exceptions to this case, but not moderators.

 

We will be using sponsor accounts should we need to put up threads like Annie Transportation Services again.

 

I hope the above explains.

 

BTW, what software you using to do all the boxes and arrows? Looks nice and concise.

Anyway to err is human, and now that it's air is cleared up, let's get back to business and start participating in the forum... :)

 

btw I'm using "Snagit" software for the screenshots, using it for my work too. Do google it to know more.

In the early days of the new format I too was being Junked for no apparent reason n it was quite quickly in succession. Only Mods can do that.

 

I just still think this Junking thing is unnecessary n only open to abuse, especially by those who hold privlidged positions in MCF.
