What happen if TP stop you and narrate the offense which you think otherwise?

Do you try to explain your way out and refuse to sign & acknowledge the summon ticket?

Once you sign the ticket, you've acknowledge the offense and no way to back-off.

I know last time TP wil give a bit of chance n out of 2 offences u comitted, he wil charge u only on the lesser one.

Like eg: Lorry travel 70kmh n travel on lane 1, he write Obstructing n not speeding cos speeding has a heavier penalty.

And I didnt know we have to sign the summons from TP in SG?????

I kena before many years back just a month after I got my license - Careless driving + No put P-plate. TP said he will charge me for the careless driving part but ignore my offence of the non-display of the triangle [lipsrsealed]

Ya I know usually TP wil sometimes give a "discount" on yr summons. Hahaha.

you ask if you can 'settle' on the spot? :D

This must wait till ty outsource n many Msian doing TP duty.

Sure can get discount if settle on the spot. Just like if u kenna in Msia. Hahaha. [grin]

Go Ubi and meet IO and explain to them can also neg wavier there. This what I read from a post sometime ago from MCF.

Latest I read ty going to stop this practice of going to TP office to explain n try fr a discount.

Maybe can still write in n try though.

I think the sign is not "admit" but rather just sign that you received the ticket - same like US style.

Can still go and fight if you want to -

My only warning would be - if want to fight, remember that the offense can be increased as well as decreased.

Is your first point based on 'insider info', or your dreams?? In my dreams I always see to skid and bang lamp posts :-)

Maybe first time offenders should be given a stern warning instead of a summon unless it's a serious offence exceeding way above what's in the rule book.

Long ago I ever kenna "discount" by TP.

He even tell me he wil put the lesser charge so fine is less.

But long time I never kenna summons so not sure of the system now.

Get a car cam + drive carefully.

If kenna what you said, look at the vid to make sure you were right, then appeal.

From this experience, I would seek help from MP then appeal to TP.

I think our LTA/TP have high authority to penalize public if you're not careful (non-accident) on the road.

I believe words against words (me) is definitely on loosing side to the authority. And the offense uses very harsh wordings on the summon such that you are deem wrong.

if sign = admit guilt, then if can dont sign, dont do it

if sign not equal to admit guilt then i guess its ok to sign
