Nowadays, very seldom can see such flowers, very nice scent. Smell it during the day and if ever smell it at night, better keep mouth shut ...... -_-

 

yep... not sure about now

 

but during my time, many of us know not to mention anything when a sweet scent suddenly appear out of nowhere

 

means got hantu around [sweatdrop]

doing a solo topo from dusk till dawn in tekong....

it made my balls shrink.

and some other minor "shuffles" with some guys from 7sib in some disco back then,i remember the polis did not dare to do anything to us or the 7sib guys because we are "wearing green" personel.

Ex greensleeve always have funny incidence one. Another section com was so haolian that he said loudly about who are the elephants in his section during the night topo. And he was the only one that had a fall that night....sibei ironic!

My most memorable moment of my NSF life is to escort a regular captain from court martial back to DB.

 

Also heard many sad and some unbelievable cases in court martial.

 

Saddest case is a habitual AWOL guy was sentenced to 24mth DB after AWOL for 4days.

The heavy sentence is due to this is his 7th AWOL offence.

Heard from my record office that this guy still yet to ORD after 7yrs in the Army due to in out DB for AWOL.

 

Most common reason that leads to AWOL are BGR issue and home $ issue.

Really eye opening......

not everyone carry m16. I prefer the shield and baton.

the DO will shout "on guard"!! :D

 

 

i think there was only 1 camp in singapore which did not need to carry arms during guard duty. ahahah.

Too young to know then. Might have been a tradition left behind by the British. I don't think is flag lowering since that was blown late at night. Iirc, it was on a daily basis. It was from a musical instrument and not those vehicle horn.

 

When my turn comes to serve, didn't hear of such things anymore.

My unit used to play the last post but either i rmb wrongly it was played in the morning @ 6am instead of the Reveille....

 

We didnt have the advantage of google then. To us, it was always the "Por poooooh" song dat wakes us up in the morning when the whole place was still shrouded in mist. By the way, the bugle call is a british/ commonwealth tradition. The Americans have a different set by Guns n Roses apparently.

To think of it we seldom spent the evening in our camp. Its either night training or night off for us. And Guillemard location is near to all our need....geylang, orchard....joo chiat and east coast. We even spent the night at the beach together on the eve of our ROD.....the very last night before we said goodbye to the camp and to each other before we see each other as the carefree and gungho youth we once were.

That area really another different side of sg if they are really left undisturbed. Cause nobody knows in future if they will develop the area.

 

yep

 

it's pretty nice to wake up in the early morning and see the whole place covered in mist and dews

 

but of cos, it was damn sianz then, cause we were in the middle of an exercise and had to do stand-to at the first daylight

 

no mood to enjoy the nice scenery

I always though military DB you would address the person by rank still, just like POW you would still need to address them by rank. Not like justice bao where can strip off the person rank.

I was told all detainees need to address MP as Sir even thou he is not a commission officer.

That was what I was told too. All detainees regardless of rank must address the MPs as Sirs.

 

And i was told that in the DB, areas are marked out by lines on the floor. Detainees in one area cannot cross these lines without asking for permission.
