I got a bunk oni!!! That time i passed by Guillemard n they had cut a rd through the camp n i actually can see the bunk i slept in 25 yrs ago. Very nostalgic! The rd had cut through my units rear gate and through the medical centre which led to the front facing Broadrick secondary school. I think it will be the last time i see that place before it got torn down.

This camp have been abandoned donkey years ago, and until today still havent torn down?! There was once passby this camp after supper at the hawker centre nearby, saw one of the toilet light was on! Thought the camp no people liao?!

Lucky u! My time no instant noodles allowed. All combat ration...dog biscuit, sardines, braised chicken, baked beans, lemonade and best off all the ovaltine biscuits and chocolate! But we always managed to smuggle out maggi for the exercises.

The sardines is so fishy, if it stain on the No 4. The smell is terrible.

i realised during NS i could just sleep anywhere

last time 3-tonner didn't have those safety belts... my platoon bochup just anyhow slept on the planks inside the tonner while it was travelling to the exercise site at the godly hour of 3am

if got accident, sure flew off one

i also slept UNDERNEATH the tonner a few times

quite dangerous now that i think of it [laugh]

That time we not scared die wan....can tell you how we passed a ridge on pendayan with a thousand meter drop...really heckcare. Passed the ridge without thought of safety and toom a glance down the drop. Cant really see the ground as it was covered with trees and the vertical drop was really

I ever slept on something soft and warm during an exercise in marsiling area. It was dark so i just fall asleep and only found out that i slept on a pile of manure that the farmer had prepared for his morning routine! [laugh] [laugh]

Normally. I don't eat the sardines. And in the field you can't carry those onions, chilli with you.

Dont be surprised...my reservist section very enterprising wan. In brunei jungle they can get ice fir our lemonade, rambutan ang longan in cans during our jungle training. Very creative bunch. After river crossing...the whole company was wet but my section was dry....and we went through all what the men went thru. Even our pc was surprised! The river crossing was at sungai batu apoi and it was far from any bridges or whatsoever. I really respected this bunch of ah bengs!

I used to stay somewhere near the camp. I remembered in the early 80s, can hear the blowing of a horn??? at around 10 or 11pm every night except weekends.

Sometime they will play the bugle call during flag lowering but that is in the evening. If u talking about loud horns most pro its the drivers signalling moving out for battalion exercise.

Hahaha....that one need a bit of imagination. That section paikia section...i got transferred to them during reservist as i had continued my education after we ROD. The whole cmpany listen and are afraid of them...so naturally the storemen and the rest will listen to them. I was there for the ride...but sometime training with them can be a bit troublesome. They were quiet good actually even our encik joined us for topo exercise in ROC to join in the fun!
