sometimes i miss the ICTs

a break from work... no need to think, no need to stress

More than 20 yr ago at our first ICT one guy in my platoon who started working at HP, was so happy at be at the ICT. He said at work got long travel, work late so not enough sleep, and his boss scolded him a lot so v stressed. At ICT we whole day KLKK with tea breaks in between, got free main meals, got Kakis (whole unit stayed together after ROD) to TCSS whole day n night, then can have lots of sleep! Super shiok cf. to work life...

True, when I was having a full time 8 to 5 job, I love ICT so much, everyday go back camp is like going for a holiday resort, but since I started doing my "own business" going back ICT can really take up my valuable time, but still not too bad ever since they allow camera phone in.  [thumbsup]

my reservist camp btw was quite relaxed one

couldn't say the same for some of my friends, who were at coastal defense or something.... they had to dig and fill in thousands of sandbags during their ICTs!!

Haha maybe they have lost my docket as well...

Last time they PT&S now AFC?

Anyway we don't really interact with them and for a good reason: we don't click.

You also from our family? Which batch?

I dunno what is PT&S. I think you are too old school.

I was from batch 80 something and it was called SPT then but SPT reported to AFC or something like that.

A few batches after mine course became 3 months or less and "passees" are called FS right?

Someone told me unarmed combat was taken out ( a blessing!!) true?

Anyway SPT was still called SPT then.

BTW monkey god was my junior [wave]

Last time it was PT & Sports Branch which was in-charge of all of us and it was HQed in Khatib Camp.

In the early nineties all lot of us went there for our annual IPPT & there was this 3-bar who was extremely fierce.

Didn't catch his name back then.

He was not very pleased with those from the navy and made his thoughts known to all the father-mother-sons.

Not helped by the fact one of my batch boy flunked his sit-up while another failed his chin-up.

Both from navy... [shakehead]

What do you mean a few batches? I think it is many many batches after your time (around 75th?)

During 80+ batch, still had to do unarmed combat but no longer till instructor level.

AFC was also at Khatib. I guess it is just a name change.

Correction. We were termed UNARMED COMBAT AUXILIARY INSTRUCTORS [;)]  i.e. can go around adjusting the students' stance & limb movements while the TKDI is teaching but cannot demonstrate nor spar lo

Remembered our TKDI was a young 3-dan SEA games rep named Jacky. His entrance most impressive.

A short fella, he called out to the tallest (about 1.82m?) in my platoon to come out and stand in front of him but stay still. Next he raised his foot all the way to my buddy's nose and said he expected all of us to be able to do that at the end of the course.

Naturally many wetted our pants there and then.... [laugh]
