Range Rover runs over a group of bikers during an annual ride event

Would love to see the reactions here, though i'm neither for the biker nor for the Range Rover.

I guess the driver probably panicked when he saw so many of them surrounding him. If he really wanted to kill the bikers he had so many chances to ram them when they started chasing. Some were following so close after the first time he ran them over he could just swerve to the left and side swipe them.

Orbigoot. The "annual ride" is not an official event or sanctioned in any way, just a bunch of goons blocking up the highway (at least these jokers weren't stunting as well) because "this is the ride we do every year mannnn"

 

Rangie driver will probably claim panic and feeling threatened because they blocked the road and surrounded his/her car "then I blanked out Officer, I don't know what happened next I was in shock".

 

Plus drive Rangie in new York = wu lui = can hire good lawyer = simi sai oso can. I bet the driver was a) calling lawyer as he/she drove over the bikes/people and away b) calling police after getting lawyer's advice.

 

This is why I hate group rides. Even normal, responsible riders turn into bouquet of anti-social a------es on a group ride. Applies to cyclists as well.

Where are all the cops? From the video a motorcycle purposely stop in front of the car. Both motorcycle and car are bad ass

This is New York City. The cops tend to be busy handling homicides and domestic disputes.

The only way to stay alive for the range rover is to keep driving and hoping the bikers run out of fuel. never drive into a city traffic where the bikers got a chance to get down and mount an assault.

Or drive all the way to a police station.

So many interesting small details in the video

 

1) lock your door if you plan to run over people

 

2) using an iPad to capture video while riding a motorbike is stupid

 

3) please use your helmet to smash the window, not your hands

Not saying that he will get away with nothing. But IMO it looks more like he panicked rather than purposely want to run over the bikers. He had many more chances to run over those blocking him after that but he didn't.

How are the bikers gonna outrun a range rover? Top speed or fuel tank capacity?

From 0:19 onwards you see a guy in white helmet and bike taunting the RR driver. He even deliberately slowed down in front of the RR. The driver honk the fellow and the biker buay song confronts the driver. That's where things get out of hand.

 

The event is poorly organised. Other public road users get blocked by goon bikers.

When I was in NYC two years back, there was a cop on every second street intersection. Perhaps it was September, but they sure didn't have donuts in hand!

Whether the door was locked was probably irrelevant, as one biker used his helmet to smash the window of the Range Rover thereby gaining access to the driver.
